Awesome build! I thought a cool idea might be a sort of Jurassic Park but for monsters in the wild imaginary west. Maybe some rich guy made a “monster zoo” but life would find a way if you know what I mean….. This video made me come up with this because I was trying to guess what the train cars would be before you put them on and what I guessed was maybe a monster in a cage which made me do my own subconscious world building. Great video!

If you like arches, my favorite arch in Utah is a lesser known arch in the Vernal area called Moonshine Arch. It was named such because during the prohibition area people would sneak into moonshine arch and brew illegal alchohol. It is a short hike from the road and you can walk underneath as well as on top of the arch. This build reminded me a lot of it.

Your train layouts keep getting better and better! If you want a more “steam locomotive-y” chassis then the smaller 0-4-0 and 0-6-0 chassis are great on sharp curves. A great example of the 0-4-0s would be the B&O C-16 class locomotives that were build purely for industrial waterfront switching. There are many photos of the sharp curves they run on which is quite silly to your every day railroad. I love your spaghetti western models!
@SodorTrain12252 ай бұрын
Unless I'm mistaken, the shell you designed for this project somewhat resembles 'Dolgoch', which runs on the first preserved railway in the world. The volunteers who run 'Dolgoch' have given her the nickname "The Old Lady", which is really charming.

@dhcoloniemain93582 ай бұрын
The gray part of the molded roadbed on the track is supposed to represent gray ballast. In the wild imaginary west, I doubt they would import gray ballast from someplace else just for the trains. So, for your next build color the track base to match your scenery and rock materials. Then, hand paint the ties if you want them to stand out. Otherwise, great job!

IMAGINARY WEST IDEA: have train tracks do a loop de loop, ofc have a big gun on one of the carriages and mid loop have it shoot a big bird of something. Maybe the loop serves an important strategically advantage when killing wildlife

For the train itself Try the kato steeple cab It’s a small 4 wheeled little train with couplers on each side to couple to other pieces of rolling stock that is also sold There really small and are practically built for this layout you have here . I recommend getting one that comes with extra pieces . A 3 set of the steeple cab itself one open wagon to put things in like little logs or fabric or anything and a final piece being the caboose or break-van or whatever it’s called to different people that has 2 gaps for logs or whatever else you want in it This little set is about £30 in the uk and cheap anywhere really . I recommend this . I have 2 and I love them both dearly There is also people out there who make body-shells for them to swap out to make it from electric to a diesel . My favourite is budget model railways who makes some cool ones Anyways here’s my advice for a little train . Have a good day Bye

This build is very on point for a long-term project I'm working on now. I'm starting with an N-Scale Kato Mikado engine and creating a layout with Atlas flex track which will surround a 1920s amusement park including a hand built wooden coaster. Since this is my first foray into electric trains I looked really closely at the Bachmann EZ track but the plastic track bed is just too hard to hide and also offers fewer curve options than flex track which is only limited by the engine's turning radius. Hopefully I'll be able to properly lay out and secure the track so I won't have a bunch of derailment issues, but hey, problem solving is one of my favorite things about building stuff from scratch!

A good alternative for narrow gauge is the Thomas and Friends OO9 narrow gauge collection. While the trains they replicate are IRL Welsh and are smaller then real life western narrow Gauge they could conceivably be useful on a short private railway in the Wild Imaginary West where the sorts of tramways that would in our world be horse drawn such as mines or logging would have to be mechanised. After all having a team of mules or bullocks might attract monsters and a steam engine can drive those whatchamacallit a that repel them. For the western fell add a chef's hat smokestack and a larger wooden cab. Then paint it in bright colours. In the real west they painted locomotives in garish bright colours. Jupiter, one of the engines at the Golden Spike has murals in little panels. Gosh darn murals!

Congratulations on your kickstarter doing so well on kickstarter. You are so talented and even though this is not a game I could play because I don’t have any friend that would enjoy playing this game with me. I used to play D&D campaigns all the time but I lost touch with those friends years ago. I do miss role playing. Anyway there couldn’t be a more deserving creator. Although I do not know you in real life, I do believe you are a good person. Congratulations again on that being a success and I wish you lots of sales for your game. It will bring so many people happiness, fun, bonding with others. It makes me happy to think about the smiles it will bring to people faces. Thank you for making this board game. It is so unique in my opinion and something that the board game/RPG world needed. Love your videos I watch every video you put out. Thanks.

It'd be an interesting idea to see what monsters and places there would be further north like in Alaska or Canada. Even northern Washington closer to post gold rush expansion to the west coast and see what beasts there are in the snow of the world. Like a small sneak peak outside of the usual "Western" regions and creatures

it would be amazing to see a processing plant for that ore, conveyers dropping buckets of ore into big steam powered stamps, moving into a refinery with smelted metal being loaded for transport. possibly materials to be used in making a massive forestall to protect a large area? i dunno, food for thought.

Next time you make a locomotive on a trolly base, you might want to base it on a shay, Heisler, climax, or other geared locomotive. They were built to be powerful for their size, relatively inexpensive, and good at taking steep grades & sharp corners, at the cost of being very slow. Because of how they’re built, their wheel arrangement looks similar to the two-truck trolly base you used, more so than a traditional locomotive would. What’s more, they were very popular on logging & industrial railroads, and look very steampunk with all their exposed moving parts, so they’d fit in well in the wild imaginary west setting I think.
