Love that you included your material costs, I find most small businesses don't. Great video!

Hi! I don't want to be mean or anything, but I wanted to ask you, how did you start your business? what did you have to buy, was it hard to get customers, how long it took you to really get a hang of it? I'd be thankful if you answered me

Hi! I might make a video more in depth later, but basically I started off making an Etsy just to sell some patterns, then when I was getting into selling physical items I just bought some shipping stuff and that’s all I really needed to get started! It was very hard to get customers at first but you just gotta stick it out and market yourself on social media! It took me a while to figure out what my customers liked and what people would buy so I recommend trying a lot of things to see what people gravitate towards and then really jump off that. I hope this helps a little!

How fast are you at crocheting when started? Do you do anything else besides your small business? Do you think it's possible to work full time have family and do small business and make it?

hi my name is elia! a possible video idea: how you got started on etsy and how you attracted people to your shop! i just started an etsy shop selling my crochet items about 3 weeks ago, and it is soooo hard to get my name out there. i'd love to know your tips :)

So in a month you made about 50 items…that feels like a lot for only 400ish dollars of profit do you feel like this was a positive experience? I’m not trying to be rude just curious as that is only a profit of about 8.20 an item and I’m not sure I could sustain that as a small business but everyone is different too. I’m curious if that’s a good or bad month for you?

Hi! This is a very very very good question because you are right! It’s not a lot of profit for how much work I put Into this month, the truth is, my booth is what makes it unsustainable. I’ve had the booth for about half a year and it’s hardly had any growth and takes most of my earnings. But the problem is it is a lease, so I have to have it for a year before I can be done. It was a stretch renting out the booth in the first place but I figured it would be a great learning experience no matter what, which is why I decided to do it in the first place. So that is why I’ve been focusing a bit more on my Etsy the last couple months. Which- we all know Etsy takes many fees out, but it’s not quite as much as the booth. So honestly, it’s my method of selling that results in this! I’m also very new to small business-ing so that also doesn’t help. I would consider this a better month because in the beginning, I started off with negative income with similar work put into it, which is honestly the reality of a small business (sometimes) But every month has gotten better and better. It truly is a slow process to get known and to sustain a business. Like I said, I’m still new to this. I hope this answers your question!
