Tip trade: Willjum, for the underwater crates, if you open it from above instead of on the side of it, you can slow down its ascent to the surface which allows enough time to hoverloot all their contents right after you untie it. Saves time having to track them down on the surface, and provides more stealth in case someone came by on the surface and sees the crates coming up and boat camps you. One I learned from you is putting the root combiner for two solar panels right at the panels instead of in electrical room which saves a lot of time doing wiring. But that might also open the door to offerliners who have enough time to kill power input and drain batteries sill I want to try and the the root combiners can still be hidden pretty easily.

The crazy thing is, I don't play MMOs and PvP games anymore, let alone a brutal and unforgiving game like Rust. Then the almighty algorithm put a Willjum video in my suggestions for whatever reasons and I only clicked on it, because the titel said something about a super sophisticated SP base and I was, let's say scientifically interested. Next thing that happened was that I had watched all of the video, was super relaxed, clicked the next one, binged a couple more in the coming days and then subscribed. I have no idea how he creates such a relaxing experience out of this stressful game, but he does and watching/listening to his videos while painting miniatures is sooo calming.

Small note with the electrics that I'm sure you already know, If you wanted your spotlight to only turn on during the night you can use a branch off the solar panel to a blocker in line with the lamp, so when the solar panel is generating power the light is off. Would add to the lighthouse feel :)

tip while ocean farming, you can hold shift and space to go up while the box is going up and grab the loot before it goes to the top of the ocean, giving you more safe looting :D

hey willjum fishing villages have a couple quests that you can do that supply you with good items and i see that you went diving for crates then to underwater labs in this video. if you go to the diving master at a fishing village he has a quest where you go unhook 10 crates from underwater then go back to him and he will reward you with a pump shotgun and some ammo :) i normally will hit this quest when i play solo and then get the pump and use it to run underwater labs. just tryna give some tips for others as well i feel like the water area is very underrated and it gives good loot especially for solos :)

Nice story again, Willjum! One wipe on a low pop server I made a lighthouse but the light "rotated" like a real lighthouse. I think it was 12 total searchlights pointing out the windows, each turning on/off in sequence. The circuitry was horrendously large. Nobody raided it, I guess because it was a work of art? Or because they thought I sunk all my energy into building and couldn't possibly have any loot (haha how wrong they were)

If you plan to do more diving for crate loot in the future, you should consider taking the mission off the scuba NPC in any fishing village. Loot 10 crates, get a pump shotgun and some ammo. Another mission is kill one shark, get a jackhammer and a syringe. The bases you make are awesome, keep it up!

I play solo and I love looting underwater. On Xbox you can stand on the crates while untying them and loot them immediately once they’re free. No risk of someone stealing your crates and it saves time.

As somebody who started their Rust adventure as a literal roleplayer years ago (Nopixel Rust RP is what we did between Arma & GTA) I really appreciate the lighthouse design. Brings back fond memories of fun base designs like Timmac's Hotel, Kiwo's Art Museum, and my Big Church of Science. Also it's fun seeing Wiljum pickup on the solo pirate life. Getting a boathouse down, farming flotsam, diving, and grubbing oil or cargo have been my go to way to get a decent start as a solo for a while now.

The thing I like about willjum is his videos are never predictable. Amazing video. If you ever find yourself farming the sea you should take the quest from the diving master (he hangs out in the fishing village with a spear gun and diving gear) it gives you a pump shotgun if you farm 10 underwater crates

Hello Willjum. I had never even heard of this game until about 2 weeks ago. I watched Disguised Toasts Twitch event on Rust and fell in love with the game. It has elements I've always wanted in a game but, unfortunately, I'd never be able to make the time commitment needed. Then I found your channel and I absolutely love it. Reminds me of my playstyle in other similar games. So while I may not be able to play myself, I can live vicariously through watching your vids.. which I have already seen most of, playing in the background as I do other things. Awesome vids. And you've gained a sub from someone that has never even played the game.

I put off playing for a long time. Most servers reset every week or two, so the object is to play fast -- however you want. When the toxic nonsense starts, you just start a new server. I can make a pretty sweet base with a couple hours of free time. If it doesn't get raided, you can make it epic pretty quick. Never any long term investment, so you never have to cry over losing months of effort.

For the electricity you can hook the battery up into a splitter, then the splitter allows 3 different switches to be connected for your usage. Love the base tho!
