After a while you get really really good at immediately determining if thats a player or a holo, but that’s when it works so well…

Fun fact, holo clones can block any shot that disappears when hit, this includes the one shots of certain titans like ion's laser shot or a single shot of Northstar's railgun. Best use, notice a laser shot, deploy holo clone if your fast enough. Alternatively set up a holo wall of clones

If you slide one way you can look somewhere else and deploy the holo and it slides an impressive distance towards wherever you may be facing. Honestly glad to see a video on this as it has so much untapped potential because holo is just a meme to most people.

Yeah, in my 3 hours of playing my holo pilot I realized if you deploy in the middle of sliding the hologram doesn’t keep the speed the real pilot is going at, instead it always starts at the maximum speed possible. Very useful if you want your hologram going really fast for whatever reason

I ran holo pilot since i unlocked it couple years ago, and i never left it. Man, its so fucking strong lol Its not about them absolutely falling for it, but if it makes them flick away for a sec, it gives enough time for me to kill them Tactikill with it is dummy strong too. Each kill gives a charge back and you can chain them if people try to goon squad you. Each kill you toss one down and everytime they will have a double take on it and that's enough time to take em out usually. There is nothing but bamboozle that holo gives but its plenty enough to make sick plays Especially if you are a flanker player. No need to flank from teammates, you create your own flanks lol

It's like I always tell people who swear they 'didn't fall for it'. You don't have to fall for it, that small second of hesitation is what kills you. That, or your haste. No one in a battle has perfect judgement of every target, and holo pilot takes advantage of that in a big way.

My favourite thing to do is to send a holopilot into a room where I know someone is waiting to punch me, then they chase the holopilot to bunch it and their back is turned to me so I can execute them, super satisfying stuff

If you practice long enough with anything you’ll be good at it. I use holo most of the time. It’s become game instinct when to deploy it. I don’t even think about. When I plan an attack path I’ll deploy two of them ahead of me, opponents see three pilots coming and they panic for a second which gives me the advantage. Works great down corridors.

As a Holopilot main from the old days here is a Holopilot game changer for me: When sliding you can send a hologram forward and it will slide forward with its own set of inertia. So regardless if you are at the beginning or end of a slide your hologram will immediately boost out in a direction, perfect for scouting a room. This is huge for two main reasons: 1) No one expects the Hologram to actually be sliding, usually it’s basic actions like running straight or standing still. 2) The hologram is moving in that direction at a speed a player would expect a pilot to be moving, not only giving them less time to think but also making it more realistic. This is the most proactive way to use Holopilot that I have come up with and works amazingly. (This also applys to Mirage’s holograms on Apex to an extent)

I have been waiting for a really long time for someone to actually give the holo pilot the appreciation that it deserves. I have been playing for a few years, and after trying out all the pilot classes, I cannot use anything OTHER than holo pilot. I have gone into matches where I've been told over and over that I'd be far better off using something else like stim. Thank you so much for showing that it's very much a mind-game. If you can't set up the kills, they won't come to you. Though, a note on your bit about titans. It's incredibly useful for titans. For instance, auto titans will ALWAYS target your holo pilot, even if you're right around it. It is not a gamble, a holo pilot will always attract AI attention like a magnet. This makes it very useful for people that enjoy taking out grunts and such in attrition. However, if you're going against a player titan, the best idea is to consider what titan. For most, I make a holo run straight for them, multiple times from different angles while using the movement system to move in a circular motion around the titan from a distance while using the thunderbolt. It WILL make the pilot angry, and they WILL use all of their abilities to try and kill you. I have a bunch of footage if you ever want to analyze or use any of it on your channel, I don't want any compensation, just for the word of the holo pilot to be preached. It's a great skill.

My favorite thing to do was to equip my dmr and set a few “dummy holograms” in some really predictable sniper spots. I’d wait to see which one gets shot at and where it came from, then get a clean counter-snipe afterward. It’s also hilarious when someone catches on, then you jebait them with a hologram.

My issue with Holopilot isn't that it doesn't work when used properly, it's that it doesn't provide enough of an advantage to compete with the other abilities. It can be fun to mess around with and even give you the upper hand in some fights, but it just doesn't compare. Cool, I bamboozled a guy. But is that as useful as crossing the map in seconds with grapple? Pulling a 180 in a fight with stim? Closing the distance or escaping a near death situation with phase shift? Nobody will ever convince me that Holopilot is anywhere close to being as useful as the other abilities. It's a great meme and I'm glad it's in the game, but I would never use it in a serious game against competent players.

@@olafpl99999 I agree to an extent. The other abilities are useful, just in a more specific way. Cloak is excellent when the enemy team has total titan control, A-Wall is great when you're being spawn camped, phase shift is actually pretty top tier if you know how to move without Stim/Grapple, and pulse blade is good in objective modes like CTF or hardpoint. While you could probably say the same about Holopilot, I would argue to a much lesser extent. But yeah, in general gameplay grapple/stim are hard to pass up.

Holo is hands down the best tac. I've saved my ass so many times from ppl hitting the holo instead of me in a hallway to flying by a titan at high speed making it think I went one way when I'm on him. Truly my favorite above grapple it does so much more then anything else I think

I wouldn't say the best tac, because if I fell for it (which rarely happens because I can't find anyone that plays with holo) I'd just grapple tug to a new position or grapple tug to the other side of the building. That way I got out of a sticky situation and still have a grapple charge left. I think stim is the best when is was trying out the tacticals I found out that it is useful in every situation. Of course that doesn't mean i'll main stim as I like to switch things around often.

The wall run issue you're dealing with is that it's not detecting which surface you were on, but rather the surface normal of what you were on. If the normal changes too little around the Z axis, you have to drop in elevation before you can wall run again. This is true of any parallel but discreet surfaces, but you can fool it in areas like the side of the ship in Relic, because it will let you wall run past parts that are perpendicular to your movement, but if you jump off of them, it considers the normal you just left to be opposed to the bulk of the surface, allowing you to wall run essentially forever (assuming you keep hitting the timing of jumping off of those ridges).

ngl the agressive in your face holo playstyle is super fun. It is not a bad tac by any mean; it memes on all AI, it can block enemy melees, causes general chaos on the battlefield, and if you know how to move fast you can mindgame people with decent consistency. It takes a lot of time to figure out how to mannage them correctly in the heat of battle. As a rule of thumb always send them out after breaking line of sight then change your path rapidly to make enemies guess before shooting.

The trick that sold me on holo pilot, and what really made it click for me is that people, more often than not, shoot at the first enemy they see. This works really well in close-quarters environments. When storming a room, send in a holo-pilot first, and storm shortly after. The enemy inside will be too distracted by the holo that they won’t have time to readjust to you. When you’re defending a room against someone you know is going to come in, set up a holo so that it’s the first enemy they see when they enter the room. They shoot the holo, you shoot them.

My favorite trick for Holo Pilot is being on a roof and making a standing hologram on the top of the roof and going down the side behind the hologram and crouching and shooting enemies (usually titans). Enemies will almost always shoot your hologram first since it looks like a noob shooting. This helps you escape or find enemies. (I call it the likely story tactic because names matter.)

big thing is that you don't really have to fool other players, you just have to slow their reaction time. Seeing 2 players emerge and having to choose will have the first one be shot later, regardless if that first one is you or not. Even just a small diversion gives a large advantage when time to kill is low, you need to finesse when they see the holo in order to punish immediately after. Also great for distracting titans for a rodeo, holo across their front while you climb up from behind, you can also split off once you get the battery and have them choose which to shoot.

It's funny that holopilot is getting a lot of looking back on it. It's good, it just requires some brain power from the user, some funny movement, and a degree of luck. It's super satisfying to to trick 1-2 people at a time or set up traps with it. You just have to think a little bit outside the box. It's not immediate, fight changing results, but it has use. Or y'know. Just use stim or phase pilot for immediate results that directly impact your situation and can easily be get out of jail free. Or that.

I am a holo pilot main as well as a grapple main. I believe it comes down to map knowledge if your playing on a map like homestead you should grapple but for something like complex you should use holo pilot and learning where other pilots like to camp and power positions can mean the difference between a good holo pilot or a great one

I bunny hop fast af into fights and use it. Or right before a corner when know someone is there on the other side. Especially when I can bunny hop around the corner. I play holo pilot and pulse blade mostly. Some grapple and phase shift too. Bunny hoping and air straifing away from titans is sometimes already enough, the holo pilot just makes it a little harder depending the situation. Just running around on the ground it's pretty much useless. Unless you're dealing with a dumb camper. If you see A Red Behr say hey!

I'm a Holo main, i use it in the middle of a fire fight, if they look at it for a split second that already gives you the edge, just the millisecond of hesitation either ruins their accuracy or they stop shooting at you and you can get the kill

I hate the glitch? on Angel City on those buildings you were having an issue jumping between. One thing I found is that if you go between the buildings and jump back forth it'll get you up there.

I really only use holo pilot cause the outfit looks dope. If we could choose how we look and the ability we have, and not have it restricted to classes, i would rock holo pilot’s outfit 24/7

They should add that when u shot a holo u get marked for the enemy Team for like 2 seconds like in Apex
