Perma damage is always good, but before I watch the video my thoughts on this subject is there always has to be 1 additional Pro and 1 additional Con, generally a good Con with this system is to introduce new ways damage can be dealt to the player, but at same time make craftable hearts that don't heal but get harder incrementally to craft, it adds a new heart to use but doesn't remove the taken damage, so example 10 hearts is the base so if you took 6 hearts of damage you have 4 workable hearts and 6 are Blacked out, if one is crafted then you still have the 6 original Blacked out hearts but only have 5 you can use, and because the next one to craft is harder, and because of the new ways for damage mechanics, crosses out as even. Example every 2 mins 1 half heart damage no matter what like clockwork hurts the player, or a Sunburn hurts the player if in the sun longer than 1 in game hour is some examples, Caves if not resurfaced you get Carbon Dioxide poisoning after 4-8 hours in game as you use up oxygen and must surface is some examples of introduced damage, the odd tripping hazard or slipping hazard as we have all tripped or slipped or fell on something in our lifetimes. So adding perma damage is great but there has to be systems that though hard/slim may be, a small chance to work it and with great hard work can overcome it, now I will watch your vid. :)

This is a feature in Minecraft Bedrock actually, called nature regeneration (i would know, i beat it on hard like this since there is no Hardcore mode on bedrock, pro tip mix oxeye daisies with mushroom stew and they'll give you regeneration). However here even HEALING won't help and that's what elevates it to a whole 'nother level.
