Amazing video, welcome to indie game dev world! I like your approach to do not be overwhelm doing everything, is great that in this age we have assets already done by others, free and paid stuff. I would love that indie devs started making smaller versions of his dream game, because some have really good ideas that sadly ends in the trash or forgotten due to burnout. Nothing wrong with using Synty Assets in the early days of your game. If you think about it AAA studios do this all the time, they outsource a lot of their work to other studios, so there is nothing wrong with an indie dev doing the same thing.

how many hours of work did it take you to get to this point? i know when people say "t took our team 3years to make this" but how many of those hours were actually working on the game?

At the point of this video it probably took me a week of working on it. 6+ hours a day. But thats including things like finding the right assets, animations, getting everything to work as intended. Using asset saves a lot of time. The scale of the game, artwork things like that take a lot of time. A lot goes into game dev rather than just programming.

i just have to say this. before i even finish watching. The clickbait is not a good idea. just cause everyone else is doing it doesnt make it good. i nearly didnt watch this because of your title. everyone is saying dream game rn and its not a good thing tbh. i literally only clicked it cause im rlly enjoying devlogs rn and wanted more. so imma give it a shot. but doing this freqently is a quick way to lose viewers

@@SluffGaming yea man. im all for supporting indie devs. notes from the watch, it may just be your normal cadence and if so its fine. but maybe try to speed up your talking a lil? some parts felt dragged out or like you werent sure what to say next. a script maybe if you dont do that. also, focus more on your game specifically, dont show all this extra stuff, especially in the first group of devlogs. you wanna get the viewers into the idea that you have and where u wanna take it before expounding on any of that. all suggestions tho, do what you feel is best in the end my guy. ya had good production quality overall. and the video wasnt bad. but def something to learn from.
