I think that should also interview your non-grandmaster boyfriend. But don't let the two guys find about each other....

And the Super GM fling she had that one time, I think that would likely be the most instructive
@laurv83702 ай бұрын
@@executivelifehacks6747 She what? 😃 I had no idea. I was just teasing her. She saying every time "my _GrandMaster_ boyfriend... (I understand that she is proud of him, don't ask me how I know! I have a daughter her age!) sounds quite pompous, somehow rude, and/or sarcastic towards him. She should just talk normally and say "my boyfriend". People who follow her know who her BF is, and what he does (Respect!), and for the others it would make them curious "who is this guy who gives her advice?" and they would go searching, which would be a "marketing advantage" for her. Or maybe she doesn't want to be known like "the girl that kicks ass at the checkered board", but instead, "the girl with the grandmaster BF", in which case it is not our business 😛. It reminds me an old story, I had a professor at the university (this was like 40 years ago when I was a student) who was really a genius and he did a lot of things for the school, for the city, and for the society. In his 60's he bought a dog of some rare race. The dog was cute and funny and not aggressive, everybody in the neighborhood knew it and liked it, and my professor was really upset and told us in class one day that in all his life he never heard people talking behind of him on the street "this is that professor who did such and such", but since he bought the dog, every time he goes out for shopping, etc., he hears people talking behind him "this is that guy who has that dog...".

Alessia, and Noel - thank you very much for the video. It's amazing, how many questions were asked about something, that only ~1% of players would ever achieve. (GM related topics) =) Noel's monograph about self-learning (free eBook in the description) is just amazing. I downloaded and read it in one evening, and was amazed at how many questions about "What is wrong with my chess learning and training routine?" it addressed. I warmly recommend it to everyone, and if Noel ever going to do a degree in sports coaching and development - I think he has an almost ready Bachelor's thesis - so thoughtful and thoughtful this work is.

Thanks so much for the book recommendations. I already read Atomic Habits and Hidden Potential. Hidden Potential is actually the book that gave me the courage to learn chess (I had only been passively consuming chess on KZbin at the time). I will check out some of the actual chess books, the end games and the structures one sound very interesting.

Alessia, this is an excellent video. I think I would watch a video with you two talking about anything. Your fiancé has a very easy voice to listen to. I love how many books (chess and non-chess) you two read. What is your fiancé doing now that he is no longer playing competitive chess? Since Hikaru seems to be contemplating what he’ll do next - I was wondering what most GMs do once they don’t play competitive chess anymore. ❤
