I wouldn't recommend the boiling water method since you are dealing with metal it can cause some oxidation. A good old toothbrush and some 99% ipa or the highest rating you can get since its not available everywhere. Contact cleaner / Deoxit Gold or regular works great! Use a small flathead precision screwdriver or a metal dental pick to tention (bend) the pins back up no more than 1mm. If you go too far it creates the death grip which is great since you won't loose contact on the middle of a game but they will be hard to push all the way in or take out. While you are there you might as well disable the lockout chip by cutting off pin #4 to eliminate the blinking problem. It makes the NES very much more enjoyable not having to worry anymore.

You'll have to do a separate video on the noise issue. Could be anything like old capacitors that need replacing. For best paint adhesion, especially on glossy parts, I'd lightly wet sand with 1000 or 2000 grit sandpaper. Even when you try to be careful, overspray and orange peel texture is a common issue. You can get a clean professional look by wet sanding the new paint with 2000 grit sandpaper, then following that up with a quick rinse and then use a liquid plastic polish. If you sprayed your color correctly with several light coats then you shouldn't have to sand much at all, but whatever orange peel texture you find needs to be sanded back before you attempt to polish. Cleaning before painting will prevent odd oils or residues from enhancing uneven paint adhesion. Even if I were to clearcoat I'd still want to sand and polish it because it's that last layer that impacts reflection the most.

In terms of the retro brighting process they say its temporary but in my experience ive retro brighted a few items a couple years ago and they still look just as great as when i did it. My theory is that it will yellow due too the over exposure of sunlight since it has that chemical reaction with bromine (a flame retardant that was mixed in with the paint) so I say if its not in direct light as it always was like back in the days then it shouldn't yellow. Just my point of view & experience I hope the information will help you :)

very good combination of colors, and a great detail that of the decals. one would have been nice for the nintendo logo on the cover.

Either you have a higher than rated power supply or the main power capactior is bad. Verify that the power supply is authentic or with in spec of what's required.

My first thought was a capacitor issue, but the power supply may be the issue as well.
