It reminds me of how frustrated I was when I started painting. Or started sewing. Or started woodworking. But by the end of that first project, I would learn how to work it out and create something cool, and that feeling is what makes me go back for more projects and hone the craft even more.

This is gorgeous!! 💖💖Is there anything you can't do?! Personally I've found Super Sculpey is not the easiest to work with at all (conditioning, and even upon bake being quite brittle) so I feel your pain. There are far easier polymer clays to work with- if I may suggest a couple- Sculpey Living Doll is a softer clay that is far more forgiving and is definitely easier to work with, but my favourite by far is Cosclay. It bakes to become flexible which is such a cool feature and gives a lot more durability. I use it all the time!

With that kind of clay you can warm it up, but not to much. Blow dryer works. Some tools you can put in a mug of warm/hot water so that it’s easier to sculpt certain things. Just some tricks.

The way how you deal with most clays is to either water them or heat them up, so those become way more managable (thats what you basically did with the kneading - particle movement generates heat and a heated up material means it can be easier manipulated)

Fantastic job!! I might suggest trying other styles of Sculpey as different versions have different characteristics and can be easier to condition and work with! Also, I might suggest CosClay for anything that may have thin parts or that you want some movement in as it is flexible even after "cooking". It would have been great for the spring so it wouldn't crack with movement. Just some thoughts as otherwise you nailed it! Beautiful!

As someone who frequently gets bored and plays with polymer clay, can confirm that the pasta roller is 100% the best tool you can get for the job. Though I've never made anything larger than 2" in diameter lol, so it doesn't take quite so long to get the clay ready
