When this tank came into the premium shop after its removal as a tier 9 tech tree heavy, it had by far the most powerful gun on a tier 8 heavy tank. +-300 alpha was the standard for tier 8 heavies with about 200-225mm of armor penetration. T34 had the highest alpha and the highest penetration by far and payed dearly for its gun power with mobility and gun handling. It has been massivly power-crept with the introduction of the 440 alpha tanks. This tank is basically the poster child for WG tier 8 powerceep.

It was made premium when it was dropped from the tech tree during a reshuffle. So that's probably why you saw so many. They simply made it a premium when it was ripped from the tree. I played so much WOT that I got used so used to it that it was like my arm. The turret was like a lucky dip for bounces, about one in 3 would bounce. I started to notice the power creep coming up on this tank just before I left WOT.

This tank having to compete vs Skoda T56, BZ-176... Renegade feels much more flexible and T-832 can do pretty much the same with better results. This tank needs a massive buff to be competitive, like 2 seconds less reload time, better mobility and gun handling. This is the prime example of how the powercreep massacred the old school heavies.

@@evilmac9623 You can have 600 mm of pen and the T34 will still be absolute pee compared to nowadays tanks. The penetration might be the only saving factor of this thing, literally a stock T30 with 4 extra seconds reload time, horrific mobility and accuracy.

Bring it more in line with the T29 and T30 and it will shine bright. The only reason the gun handling is so bad is because back in the day, Premium tanks were mostly worse off than their tech tree counterparts. High alpha with terrible accuracy was par for the course 10 years ago.

When your bloom is huge you should lock your turret while driving. Movement+turret rotation +after firing penalty adds up fast

Its my 2nd most played tank. Already had good accuracy (0.3 on mine) so you have to compensate for the guns down sides, meaning tame the handling all you can and the DPM. So I take bond Vstab, bond rammer and bounty rotation, and steady hand directive and cola. Get the gun behaving so this tank can be consistant, if still inflexible. Just take it to a ridgeline, use depression and your improved handling to aim and take shots before they can aim on your cupola. If there are no ridgelines you snipe or support, you don't peek first, you have to selfishly use your allies HP to get damage yourself. And you have to paint the turret purple for luck.

I got the T34 back when it changed from a T9 heavy to a T8 premium, and it is my most played tank. I learned how to make it work and nearly 3-marked it. Then the T-832 came out and I haven't played it since. It's better in basically every way: DPM, gun handling, turret armor, mobility. Only Alpha and pen are worse, and those only get you so far.

I've been playing it lately using the same setup, and I can't help but enjoy it. I originally got the T30 first going up the E4 line and fell in love with its playstyle almost immediately. The T34 is pretty much identical aside from the boom stick gun. I've been having some great times with it since getting it from the charity drive a few months ago. The gun should definitely be the main focus on equipment. If you hit your shots, you are usually going to pen.

Back in the day, (and I mean BACK in the day), I used to LOVE this tank. It used to be a hull down beast. It still kinda holds a special place in my heart, and I won't trade it in or sell it just because of that alone. But yeah... its outdated, easily. T-832 is just a better T34 in pretty much every way. It does make me sad to see so many old "good" premiums left at the wayside, FCM-50T/IS6/T34/JT8.8.... If only WG would do a pass on them and bring them more in line.

These days it sits in the garage, staring at me, wondering what the difference is between the T29 and T30. The memories made from this tank will never be forgotten. Still play with it and I enjoy it, holding 100% of MOE and having a blast, all you need to do is to play hull down and aim your shots fully and it gonna hit 85% of the times

From a 50% overall win rate player, my win rate with this thing is like 58% over 300 battles somehow. These mostly took place when the meta was dominated by the first new powercreep premiums like the defender and scorpion, so I played this thing when it was already outdated. I did not have the diverse selection of equipment back then so I just used rammer, gun laying drive and Vstabs to max the gun handling. I played it like a shittier T30, they're similar if you have the 400 alpha gun on that. It has enough accuracy to snipe if you let it aim in. You won't hit pixel shots, but if the target has enough exposed surface to take up most of your aimed in reticle you can reliably send a round in. The turret face has good armor for the tier, so you're either hull down to max the armor or if you cannot, you need to sidescrape. The tracks are huge, which will absorb a lot of shots. So long as you commit to always finding a hulldown or sidescrape angle to peek tanks it's surprisingly durable. Combined with the high pen and good alpha if you can reliably find aimed shots and send them in it can reliably rack up damage. It cannot carry, but those strong points means it's surprisingly reliable at farming damage.

I always loved this tank as my reliable credit maker even without a premium account, since the penetration of the standard rounds always was strong and still is. Plus, going hulldown with the good gun depression and frontal turret armor was great for spanking players who didn't realize that shooting heavy armored turrets is pointless. These things are still the case, and honestly I still think this tank has a bit of a niche as a better hulldown semi-sniper than something like an EMIL

cheeks and roof/cupola are swiss cheese against HEAT. and for the tanks/TDs this thing faces, the 279mm gun mantlet is swiss cheese for all the gold APCR they spam.

@@nephalos666 True but that is assuming they have the accuracy to hit those areas. Most of those TDs will miss at the 300 meter plus range. Plus they will rush shots increasing their chance to miss not wanting to be hit back by the T-34. It used to be a hull down beast great for bouncing missions. The gold spam and pen increased a lot since then but it still seems to hold up well against people not digging into their wallet to over power it. Not saying you are wrong on the heat and gold spam just that it might be underestimating the effectiveness of the turret. Though the roof is an over match all day long.

When this t34 went from a Tier9 Techtree to a T8 Premiumtank back in the days of the dinosaurs they only gave it the stocktracks and the stockengine und then they f-ed up the softstats of the gun. They really need to open up the old fault and give it back the better engine and tracks and som egrease for the gun, would most likely still be below average but at least not a deathtrap.9 years old T9 sound ok for todays tier8!

Maintained a decent WR in it and usually had 2k plus, even against the Tier 10s. Played close to 2k games in it. My first prem will always have a place in my heart. Still play it once in a while but it is so outclassed now.

It is surely outdated and not the most exciting tanks to play. However, because of the very good pen on standard rounds and hull-down capacity, it is still a very solid credit maker. Don't buy it, but there is no reason to cry if you have it. Regarding the equipment I totally agree with skill - the accuracy and aim time are bad so hitting your shots is most important. With vert stab I always had the impression that I am still aiming for a long time. Thus I switched from vert stab to bounty gld and it feels better (but it may be my wishful thinking).

It is wishful thinking. Google stabiliser vs gun lane drive. Some guy took a deep dive and researched both effective aim times. Tldr stabiliser is in every single case and situation the best choice. Doesn't matter if you have long of fast aim time, big or little bloom.

I still love this tank, if you can go hull-down and get the enemies under your gun, ideally at a distance, you can rain down hell with impunity. That said, it's specifically for those scenarios, in every other situation it's terrible. Decent at making credits if you happen to have it, but certainly never pay money for it.

Bought it in early 2013 when there was only Lowe and later on IS-6 around. The T34 looked amazing, that's why I bought it. I remember the first thing I did when I started playing again in 2018 or so was to trade in the T34 as soon as the option arose because I thought it was horribly outdated for the meta. Looking at it today with almost five times WN8, I think it's a weaker version of the T29 with a small gun. Just not worth it.

i remember years ago, when i still had this tank, that it would be set on fire really easily. so easily in fact that one day i got set on fire twice (always used auto fire extinguisher) 5 times in a row, in 5 different battles. i literally would start a match, be set on fire, auto extinguisher would activate, get set on fire again and be sent to the garage. this, for 5 times in a row. on that same day i sold the T-34. edit: other than being a barbeque for most of the time, i actually used to enjoy playing with this tank. but seeing the current meta...i don't regret selling it.

I mean i find this tank really easy to play. It has gun depression, all right turret armour and can hit shots. It can also make good silver cause you dont need to spam premium rounds however you have enough pen on premium to deal with most things. And that is all you need to have all right games. The main issue with it is not even the dpm like people thought in the past cause there are a lot of great premiums with low dpm. The main issue with this tank is that its just too slow to compete with the more meta premiums

I would not recomend it, but i still enjoy t34. The turret is not that bad many people dont know how to pen it. Gun is a beast. Bit derpy, but hits hard and if you land your shots you usualy pen them. It is bit on the slow side, but not much slower than a skoda t56.

the Lowe has aged better. i play it every day and it consistently performs well. its not exactly in the meta. it gets outclassed by many new tanks. but if its good at one thing. its good at sniping a pixel at 500 meters on a moving target lol and extremely good APCR pen

I think its still viable option to play if it gets a good map for it. Its one of 2 tanks that i marked without even knowing it (sec was kv 2😂) i had good time most of the time and playing with this is a lot more rewarding then playing any other premium. Also i would like to highlight how good it feels to hit that 400 damage shot of t34.

For me it is the soft stats of the gun that kills this tank. Even at the close range you need to half half year or so to hit weak spots. Also today is day EIGHTEEN asking for Charlemagne.
