In game the geography of Riften limits is. They would have a hard time pushing west towards Falkrrath, because the Jerall Mountains and the Throat of the World are in the way, with only very treacherous mountain passes. Riften would have a hard time.moving north as well, because there is a very steep cliff that drops into a large valley going towards Windhelm. The only roads down are narrow I don't paths on the mountains. All that being said, they are also secure from outside threats, being geographically isolated on all sides.

The reason Markarth suddenly boomed in population is because they improve their wooden houses making them into stone.

Then they later on focked it up by not taking quickly out their weak neighbors, while they had the best start out of any team. It looked like at one point they were going to get wiped out, if Riften and Winterhold kept teaming on Markarth, but thankfully Markarth came back to the game.

I'm sad that falkreath got sidelined in skyrim and didn't receive a unique architecture style like some of the other places because I love the location so much and walking through the forests and its so vibrant there

Same, loved the wooded and secluded location. I spent alot of time there in many saves even downloading mods to cut trees and build my own house and made it in the woods opposite the mountain ridge by the lake. And the people in Falkreath just seem so chilled out compared to anywhere else. Everyone foaming at the mouth elsewhere about problems and war and Falkreath just sitting on the porch sipping iced tea and watching the other holds fight like kids in the yard shaking it's head.

A true three kingdoms vibe. And not without reason. Winterhold holds the school of magic that ended up ending in self destruction, Markarth was built into the mountain where any invader could be pushed back, and riften had a land of resources. And to top it off, whiterun is the deciding land of the deadlock just like it was in the game.

Honeyside seems really nice, I really enjoy Solitude's home for the plush three stories the character can take advantage of with so many storage containers. And if it has an alchemy AND enchanting lab, it's so much better.

Windhelm and Solitude are the two most interesting cities for me, but I like Windhelm a little more since the winding alleys and race/class division makes it feel more like a city than the others.

I'm about to say the same. Besides, Shu-Han was the one getting cornered inland just like Riften was. Wu had the longest coastline, though unlike Winterhold, Wu was located in a southern region without snow and the natural river boarder was between it & Han-Wei instead of its western neighbour. Han-Wei was the leading force most the time just like Markarth was. It's simply clockwise btw

Whiterun is the best city for abusing glitches, if you glitch over the wall near the entrance and run around the side of the city, you can rob the forge's chest and get a bunch of stuff to sell.

That we can see a clearer picture of faction superiority. It could make the vids more engaging as currently the only metrics we have to follow are the character race, their population, their name, and location. Dawnstar is super underrated. I love the aesthetic of a mining fishing town in the frigid north. Felt very akaviri. Also the last vestiges of mehrunes Dagon being nearby makes so much sense.

Rifted is my favorite hold because it has the beautiful autumn trees, also is on the Jerrall Mountains so there’s snowy areas. Plus Riften looks like a really quiet peaceful city eliminate the thieves guild. And that hold is mainly stormcloak and I side with them cause I’m for an independent Skyrim and I always side with rebels.

If, in this scenario, the entire Dwemer race suddenly came back in Markarth and Winterhold was not 98% destroyed by a magical oopsie, I can see it being a possible outcome. Perhaps Riften got support from Cyrodiil/was annexed by the Empire, otherwise I can't see them existing for long, let alone be one of the winners.

If I had to pick my favourite hold, not just in terms of their town but also the surrounding area, I'd go with falkreath. Love the forests and love Lakeview manor it's my main house always even if it occasionally gets attacked by a giant or bandits. It's in good proximity to Whiterun too.

the thing with this game is that the AI kinda thinks rivers are like mountains so if one faction closes off a river they have an entire side of that river to play with unless another faction hops over but I've only seen that happen with much bigger bodies of water like the sea in the North

Dawnstar is the best city/town for me. I like the road leading in to it and how theirs a small pier with houses layered above to the mountain. Also before it was patched out you could access the khajit caravan inventory chest with a glitch lol.

I personally prefer riften. I love how the season is fall all year round, I love the white birch trees, it has more creatures such as trolls, saber tooth cats, frostbite spiders and yet not a lot of wolves or bears. Yet a good amount of spriggins. Having a town on the water front is great plus it has the main 2 organizations based out of it. Far more drama in the inside as well.. but again it’s just personal preference on my part

The reason for the corrupted is because most likely on that specific mountain is some messed up dragon priest lore so draugr most likely and ghosts are known for that area
