this just should NOT be a DLC item. When the arctic hazzy came out, we all knew it was Pay 2 Win. If you don't have that DLC you are literally nerfing yourself. I fear these barrels are in the same boat, even those torch holders (every time you respawn, throw your torch in a small box and add a new one when you need it). I love these items, but being able to DOUBLE your storage in the same sized loot room only by PAYING for it is extremely bad. Thing is, FP can't reverse this. They can't make it a findable/researchable item because then they'd have to refund the DLC to everyone who paid for it. MAYBE they can sneak a hitbox patch in to match it to a large box, but then they'd face backlash from the people who paid for it as well. In other words, this is just guaranteed P2W... again :/

i love you bloo but come on… as a solo this is huge for people like myself who sometimes are unable to farm nodes due to large zergs ect. This is helping us solos to get ahead with those clans. Large groups already have enough storage due to having so many people farming early game they wouldn’t stay this cramped. this wouldn’t be used but then it’ll only be used by solo players or maybe duo at most

For all 3 loot rooms shown it’s a total of 1536 slots. This doesn’t include weapon racks or TC either. So pretty much all of the loot for an entire week long wipe can fit in core and 2 loot rooms.

The question is, why would you want to have all your loot in such a small space? That's just an extremely easy raid for most groups. It'd be much better just to expand and spread your loot out so they don't get all of it in a single 1x1 or 2x1 space...

This is great, but I disagree with the "who puts locks on their boxes" element - true, 9 out of 10 it wont matter. But how many times have you seen people (looking at Sebby for example) that rush in naked, open boxes and whip out a gun / jackhammer from one of them to kill em all... It costs sooo little to lock your boxes, and can prevent some very painful stuff :P

You could probably fit 6 wooden barrels in that square loot room, 6 on top, 6 on bottom you'd have more storage than you know what to fill with, since you're able to fit more barrels which is gives you the capacity of the large wooden box, only it's smaller and compact in size making it the perfect loot storage solution since you can fill an entire loot room with these.

Some tips for better placement and more realistic expandability - Place a triangle when facing exactly 210 then place your square off it, then you can use your compass to ensure perfect placement. Upgrade the walls to shipping container for smaller hitbox instead of needing to flip walls to stone hard side and do everything in less than 10 minutes Push a large box against the wall and pull slowly back with mouse til blue while moving left and right with keyboard, keeping compass in same position. Then switch to barrel and continue when you know alignment is perfect with large box

For the first two barrels after you place the TC, use the lines of the floor at the bottom of your screen to make sure you are facing perpendicular to the wall. The first time that he placed it, it didnt work because he was not facing straight at the wall making the barrel angled towards the other barrel thus not giving it enough room to place. 90% of this stuff is finding some way to line it up properly.

If you build the TC with the rotated walls, you can upgrade the furthest wall from the TC to stone later to place your barrels. If you don't have enough metal for your barrels yet you can wait to upgrade that third wall.

Core plus 4x2 loot room you are looking 924 slots. Core plus 6x2 loot room you are looking 1116 . If you had had that core plus both loot rooms it is 1500 slots. And none of that includes the weapon racks or TC. Got to watch them honeycomb 2x1 now. 2x2 with honeycomb are just going to get insane now.

HJ the reason the bunker did not work is because it’s designed wrong. The 2nd floor access needs to be above/next to TC with the triangle frame in that slot. You will need to do the 9 triangles out approach to create the stability bunker.

Aside from my pc having poor performance issues with the game, the other main issue I stopped playing the game for quite a while now is because of these p2w aspects. Now not just in pvp u have huge advantage by buying a fully perfectly fitting camo set for like 30eur for each clothing but now for the pve stuff too. This is a shame because I love the base building/decorating and organising stuff but atm I just cant afford to buy these stuff...

Its a stability bunker type thing... the triangle and the open triangle are supposed to be a few pixels off from each other so that they overlap. Placing a ramp on that outside construction would destroy the closed triangle to open the bunker and the open triangle is there to make sure you don't attach the closed triangle to the wrong wall and lock yourself out.

Probably a hot take or i'm maybe missing something but this doesnt really seem that P2W in honesty, it seems more "pay to play a different way". What i mean is if you have a 2x1 honeycomb your going to get raidied for around 23 rockets assuming HQM interior and sheet metal Exterior, so having extra storage might mean you can get raided cheaper than normal because you dont need to expand. if you do expand, then do you even need 8 box loot rooms? what will you do with the extra space add another loot room your never going to fill because you core has 540 storage slots before counting the weapon racks. When you expand you create loot rooms to spread your loot around your base, take the 8 box sqaire loot room for example that is 420 storage slots IF you manage by some mircale to fill that loot room using the base in the video for reference then for around 12-15 rockets (being fairly generous) raiders could take 420 storage slots of your loot doesnt seems worth the risk, so ok you leave some of the boxes empty or for rubbish you dont need (which normally just gets despawned anyway, because well; you dont need it) and spread it to around all your loot rooms but then some barrels are emtpy, which would mean your not winning anything you have just wasted resources on something to give you more storage you didnt need. you cant lock them (which does play a role atleast for me as a solo, as a bit of extra time brought again people going deep). it also gives a reason for clans and solo alike to target 2x1 or other smaller bases as raid target given the potential new payout they can offer So my take away from them is they allow you to jump into rust more casually at a greater risk, they allow you to have a smaller cheaper to raid base for when you just want to jump on to snowball without ever needing to worry about storage space and you can just focus on playing as a PVPer due to not requiring alot of farm to build a base to house your chad level PVP gains, perfect item for those single day wipes that last 8-10 hrs and you just want to see how much loot you can get, but if your playing a longer wipe, they are probably irrelevent due to actually wanting that loot to be there the next day. if im missing something please tell me.

FP already buffed storage when they revamped box storage size. but now a barrel you pay for wins more? 😂. Since when does adding honeycomb make you more inconspicuous? It doesn’t. And if you have a fully armored honeycombed 2x1 and think you’re inconspicuous.. you’re not. Size, technique and splitting loot is always better than stuffing all your loot into a smaller space. Even in a bunker setup, it’s always better to have 2, or 3, or 4, instead of just 1.
