Beautiful quilt. When you look at the colors in nature, all the colors look great with each other, no matter what color they are. I think the same is true when sewing scrappy or watercolor quilts. All the colors of fabric look good together.

@@freespirit3891 hi, welcome. Well, this one I put it on my wall as decoration. It could also be a mini placemat or a hot pad or a mugrug. But you can actually make this in any size you want, just make more squares or bigger ones and you're good to go!

What do you mind? The binding mitered corners?

Thanks. I should have waited for your answer but I made my own square but didn't add anything like the fish. I messed up the corners but it's not bad for my first time

Years ago, I once bought a new book on watercolor quilting at a book fair. After reading the extremely detailed instructions, I never made one. When I later met a friend of a friend who was an enthusiastic watercolor quilter, I presented her with this book. Turns out she had been searching for the out-of-print book and actually squealed. Twenty years later, I'm going to give it a try after watching your video. The smaller size seems manageable and way less fussy. Thank you 🍄🍄

I love making black and white quilts with a splash of colour in each block. Very dramatic. Red is my favourite.

Have you tried randomly adding a narrow strip of solid black when sewing a spider block? Mine are 12 in squares of diagonally sewn scrap strips that I then cut into four, ( 6 in) squares. If you include the batting and back fabric, the blocks can be done quilt-as-you-go. The occasional black strip piece just gives an extra punch for the eyes on scrappy utility quilts.

How would you put together one square large square to another before binding? To make a larger quilt.

Hi. Do you mean in quilt as you go? I find the best way is to sew the top right sides together and the.backing sew it by hand so I'll be able to hide the seam. I have a video about that I made in September I think where I explain the ways to sew quilt as.you go squares together without any seams showing.

Black is great for a stained glass look. I recently did a simple quilt for a niece, squares of small black and white patterns, arranged checkerboard like, but sashed with bright aqua. It was lovely.

I've done water color effects to make the front pieces of vests. I didn't know that pattern had a name! I had the pattern meet at the B inner section of each piece. They came out beautiful! I've also been very creative for the back piece. I used black/ grey bias tape to finish them.
