T1 is a legend. In League of legends he proved everyone that he's the best player in the world gaining top 1 in almost every server around the world. Then proved he can play on any position as he got challenger or in some cases top 1 (all except support i think). He was learning positions same as chess 14+hours a day. I don't watch him because i don't like his "style" but i respect him as a player and a warrior.

Hi Anna! I started watching your videos a few weeks ago and you really inspired me to start playing chess. I already knew how to move the pieces, but you showed how fun it can be playing. I think the best advice you gave in one of your videos was to "not" study chess if you are a beginner, but simply play the game. This completely changed my approach of how I saw chess, because I could focus on having fun and then naturally learn openings and strategies when I'm interested along the way. My rating is 500 and I have a loose goal of reaching 1000, but no deadlines. I think the (rather extreme) Tyler example shows how people can improve (sometimes very fast) when they dedicate themselves to a task they find enjoyable, which is a nice perspective. Maybe now I will give the cow opening a try! ^^

@9:30 What I like about this posotion is that Tyler has pressure on the half open f file, the c file he has a pawn supported by a rook ans rhe d file a pawn supported by a queen. The minor pieces are also well placed for attacking purposes. Black is rather passive with the knight as the best active piece which is an enditement as it is the most advanced piece on c6 blockading an advanced pawn.

He really sticks to one thing until he masters it. I don’t think most people have the patience or dedication like he has. Most of us would probably get bored. It seems like doing that to know the opening like it’s second nature and then doing the massive amounts of puzzles which help later in the game to recognize other patterns is a winning combo.

i've been playing the cow opening for 1 month, went from 510 to 1088, its a very comfy opening to play, the atks comes later but it comes wild and it seems that no one has something prepared against it, when it seems that you're losing it, you start wining, its awesome
@MatsMatsuo
@MatsMatsuo Жыл бұрын
just by not hangging any piece on the first 10 moves, you are increasing your chances to win the game against anyone sub 1000 by a significant margin. And also the way to punish these passive systems is not a fashion tatic or an immediately K.O. move, is just a slow build up, positional chess, and space domination, thing that only players up 2000 starts to get good at. So yeah, it's a good opening the only downside is that you won't learn chess theory, which is absolutely mandatory at 2100+, and neither win quickgames by punishing other people opening mistakes. But on the other hand you accidentally learn how to punish overextended positions.
@grgjsp
@grgjsp Жыл бұрын
@lucasmatsouca totally accurate. It’s been a comfortable opening for me because at this point I know I can get to the first 10 moves without any real threats. After that it’s very likely my opponent ends up blundering before I do, and then it’s all about spotting opportunities for attack. I just hit 1000 and will hopefully continue to climb. Don’t think I’m ever even aiming to get to 2k
@MatsMatsuo
@MatsMatsuo Жыл бұрын
@@grgjsp Yeah, it's totally fine to play these openings unless you have really high goals with chess, like FM title and beyond. Even then, you can just change your approach to a more serious system like the London system or even the hippo system.

@MatsMatsuo 7 ай бұрын
@@tatamigalaxy-i5r in chess “theory” means “opening theory” which is the knowledge around the most well known openings. To give an example, usually 2 high level player will play “theory”, in other words, moves that other players have already played before, until someone make a new move, where we often call it a “novelty”. There is no theory around the cow system, and probably there will never be, because no high level player will play it seriously due to it being objectively too bad.

I have been observing his rise since start of October, he is definitely playing beyond the levels of 1300s and mid 1400s but i still doubt him becoming 2000 amy time soon, specially with cow?! I rather say he now should start learning openings, soon players will know how to refute his opening or play positionally well enough to outplay him. Once again he is aggressive player which is not significantly favoured in cow until opponent instigates your position. I expect him to be max 1800 tops, then drop to 1600 smth and try in January to get beyond that.

It depends how you look at it. Chess is a heavy weight on your mind. After playing it for several hours and thinking about it, my brain actually starts to feel overloaded. I've also had dreams about Chess, repeating moves, and being in certain positions. It's a super addictive and fun game, but deep down it can become a problem just like League can. The worse part about League however is the toxicity and reliance on certain RNG like teammates + crits etc. Chess is a solved game, all you need is a good memory, theory, and understanding of what to look for, which takes a lot of time to refine. This on one part is amazing, but when you can only really blame yourself, I can imagine getting depressed if you're not improving, since it's literally no ones fault but your own. While in League you can blame people and create cope in your mind, since factors like teammates, fog of war, crit chances, can really turn the tide.

If people ask to explain League of Legends, many people joke, but all jokes aside, when they do, they say it's like a game of chess in a team. There are so many possibilities and options and you have to be very tactical and quick to respond. This is what I like about that game. It isn't mindlessly shooting or something. If you don't use your brain, you're not going to win. (unless you get carried).

Wow! I have enjoyed watching a lot of your videos, but this has got to be your best inspirational video I've seen. Congrats to Tyler. Even though I didn't know who he was, I do now. Thanks.

I love that you created the Cow seemingly as an experiment because you have not really pursued it. Then this guy comes along and turns the (beginner) chess world upside down using the Cow. He may hit a wall as to how far he can go using your Cow. Then again, he might be unstoppable and you might have to rename it the Bull. Great Job Anna, maybe you should try the Cow more!

I've modified the Cow and created the Hippo. Now my rating has soared from 100 to 1000, a 10x increase! I've gone from brain dead to merely stupid. Thanks Anna.

I went back and rewatced his pogchamp games, it was actually really interesting in hindsight because you could tell he was seeing WAAAY more tactics and stuff than a 100 should be able to, he just was a total noob. But once he got a few thousand games under his belt...
