I have been sewing for over 20 years now and love seeing the craft continue. A few tips I have for you going forward: 1) learn how to chain piece; it's a technique used in quilting to shrink thread waste/trimming as well as speeding up the piecing process 2) It is always easier to sew squares together than triangles; to do this I would have divided the pattern pieces you had into 4 groups of 2 instead of the top & bottom groups you used. Allowing you to then sew together the 4 squares. 3) Never use the same blade on paper that you use for fabric; this includes your rotary blade. If you like using the rotary for your patterns I recommend having 2 and label them well. Also you can pick up a rotary blade sharpener, they can be pricey but they save you lots in the long run, not having to buy new blades all the time. Also a dull blade from the fabric rotary is usually still sharp enough to be used in the paper rotary before needing to be sharpened. Hopefully this is helpful; thank you for sharing your project with the world.

Those are very helpful tips! Especially the square sewing, that would have definitely been easier then sewing triangles haha 😊

Pie is always good, especially blackberry, strawberry-rhubarb, and pecan lol very nice outfit, especially since it does give off those "edge of the woods thatched-grass-roof cottage" vibes lol and I heartily recommend the chain-piecing, too.

I'll have to try that trick with the magnets on the scissors! I suck at actually keeping 1/4 inch away when I'm cutting fabric lol
