I use to fish a large pond, the overflow was in the center of the pond. At one time there was an iron bridge going over the pond on one end close to overflow. Before they put a grate over it, 2 guys in a Jon boat went down the overflow and came out at the bottom of the dam. I bet they had to change their shorts! We fished by the overflow and caught huge Crappies and lake was deeper than 30 feet.

Might depend on how it fills and if there is reasonably heavy rain but not heavy enough to cause erosion in the area to contribute more soil to the pond.

Turns out to be a nice pond for its intended purpose, If i were to want to have a Pond - i i can ever afford it , the dam id want would have a very shallow slope on the back side so its very sturdy and I can mow it, it should have at least 15 yards depth for at least 1/3 of its area , a concrete fabric lined spillway so no corrosion issues ever and rip rap for most of the bottom and all sides of the shore so I have no algee or mud when I go swimming and way clearer whater and bigger stones laid in like a giant staircase to walk in, also concrete pillars for a wooden bridge and pieces of concrete pipes for catfisch

@Juha Tuomala people who half ass jobs should get criticized. I do construction, and I see half assed work constantly. Stuff, like this, where the guy doing it should have known better, but just wanted to do a rush job and get paid. It's particularly dishonest, because often the customers don't know how badly they're getting ripped off. People like Chris, calling out the previous person's mistakes, can help bring awareness to not only operators wanted to improve, but customers, and what they should expect.
