I made this video because I was really salty about the game, I realized the negativity surrounding the game was affecting me and I made some mindset changes which I'm very proud of. sf6 is balanced enough that a character like Blanka was considered mid to bottom tier until someone won a tournament with them and showed which moves are unfair or how strong they can be with the right setups and Aki is a lot like him. Shes nasty in the corner and when youre out of drive gauge, but her neutral is weak and some of her specials, namely her dp, arent as easy to use. After they nerfed luke, ken and jp and buffed characters like Jamie, Zangief, and Aki the overall balance felt pretty good. The only thing that feels off is that Ed just needs lots of buffs, idk might just be me, no bias at all trust me.

I never played F.A.N.G. in Street Fighter V but I always loved the poison gimmick and always wondered why everybody insisted on playing every character as a rushdown character so when A.K.I. came out I just envisioned being able to play lame with her and let the poison take over and her mechanic of crumpling opponents who attempt to close the gap and try to use her side switch slide (whatever that's called) whenever the opponent has me fighting from less than half screen to bring it back to the center so I can avoid corner carry. I heard A.K.I. is a "setplay" character and I like the idea of doing the same things over and over and just changing a variable so everything is ambiguous. Also I like that she can slither and do moves out of that. I wanted to make that a large percentage of my playstyle. Now at your rank you can probably explain why the theory that I have in my head simply isn't practical or viable.

I never played FANG either but afaik they’re not alike. So she’s not a very good zoner because she has one speed of fireball and M lash isn’t fast enough to cover the horizontal distance or air like that, she has good pokes like L lash that will be buffed when you whiff punish, 6HP which can be confirmed into super(however both of these are weak to jump and DI) or it makes people want to jump, and obviously her fireball. The strength of her fireball is that it’s slow in travel speed but also recovery so it’s hard to get out but it’s very powerful as it lets you start offense with a drive rush. Once you can get them to sit still and go behind the fireball is when aki is really strong and she is a set play character, so she takes a lot of lab time to get her up and running and even more play time to get “aki rounds” very fluidly. The poison mechanic isn’t to do damage but to skew her risk reward off strike throw basically, since her reward is greatly increased from getting strikes, in theory it should make her throws really strong. That being said, you can play lame if you need to play the clock and let the poison tick but it doesn’t do a lot but it puts some pressure on the opponent to come to you, which allows you to play reactive, this is something I did against Gief a lot.

Yeah, I really didn’t want to make this an Aki guide, I think developing your own playstyle on the character was fun, but I had some time away from the game and identified what was tilting because I found myself getting tilted in ways I never did in strive, glad you found it helpful

Aki is my favorite character but i play Blanka when i want to win bc his gimmicks are so much harder for the other person to deal with and i am really awful at this game and have had a lot of trouble with tilt making me want to stop playing the game. this past year has been the first time ive really attempted to even play fighting games online at all since before this i would just play them by myself against the computer and i think that I'm running into the same issue i get when i play any online multiplayer game where i just feel worthless every time i lose and it's ruined a lot of other games before this for me because i don't know how to use losing as a way to improve myself

Just gotta keep grinding and getting reps in, make sure you replay review, you’re only in the first year but I would return to basics and less rely on gimmicks if you want to improve
