I used to play with Google sketchup since I was 13. Years went buy and I studied Architecture, robotics, programming and then ended up in Game Art using Maya for 3D modeling and unreal engine 5 to render. Sketchup was like a sand box to play but you could do anything.

I used SketchUp and Max a lot for interior design while studying architecture but now ended up using Maya, Blender and ue5 for Game art.

Your career path is identical to my hobby path. In the middle of Afghanistan, I was playing with Maya to create characters for other Rangers who couldn't draw pictures for the stories they would write. There were a lot of great writers at base camp. They wrote fictional stories for their families, and I helped bring the stories to life, visually. When I got back home, I build a $7,000 workstation PC. Let me tell you. Going from rendering on a $1,500 laptop to a $7K PC was night and day. I haven't touched Google SketchUp in over a decade. But I think I might get back into it because I've been thinking about getting into 3D printing.

Wow, I remember the days when I had to use Catia, SDRC I-DEAS, and Pro/Engineer to design that kind of stuff. The days of using those type of tools seem to be long gone, I think.

СкетчАп- рулит! А если "пристегнуть" к нему разные плагины и реалистичные визуализаторы... у-у-у... тогда по быстроте исполнения проекта он обгоняет даже "тяжеловесные" программы-лидеры для проектирования! 👍👍👍

СкетчАп достаточно точный и при этом очень простой в освоении. В отличии от других 3Д-редакторов, рассчитанных на "художников", где всё делается "на глаз", в Скетче можно всё делать вбивая точные размеры циферками.

SketchUp - моя первая любовь, первые шаги в мире 3Д моделирования в далёком 2012-м году:) До сих пор рекомендую эту программу всем начинающим, и всем, для кого моделирование нужно время от времени.

Главное на ней не засиживаться дольше чем на два три месяца. Освоить базу и переходить на более мощный софт. Иначе это будет потерянное время бессмысленного дроча кучи действий над тем, где в нормальном софте все делается одной кнопкой.

@@easyelectronicsru Зависит от задач. Я в итоге ушёл на Блендер (а потом пришлось познакомиться и со ЗБрашем). А приятелю нужны простенькие детальки для 3Д-печати - его Скетч вполне устраивает. Но, повторяю - для вхождения в мир 3Д-моделирования, СкетчАп - отличная штука.

@@SnamilOmarov для своих задач мне подошел Inventor. Главное чтобы там было дерево построения, история операций, что от чего зависит и параметрическое моделирование. Например, вот в данном примере есть скругление, вокруг которого идет лестница. Ну нарисовал ты это ,потом еще вокруг всего нарисовал дохрена. А потом выяснятся, что лестница должна быть с другим радиусом. В нормальном CAD ты откроешь операцию где ты задавал скругление, поправишь размер один и все дальнейшие построения перестроятся сами. Где то будут ошибки, что то не сможет перестроиться само, надо будет в этом конкретном шаге указать, достроить, дорисовать. Но в целом переделка модели от первого шага займет считанные минуты. А в скетчапе переделка уже созданного равносильна рисованию с нуля заново. И чем позже вылезет косяк тем геморойнее его исправлять. Рекомендую посмотреть еще Fusion360 он бесплатен для любительских проектов.

other modelling software's all come with inbuilt tools to do stuffs. Sketchup needs plugins to do everything. Some things are just not possible or take too long to do manually. Like push pulling a curved surface. How hard was that for them to do? So they can receive royalties from plugin makers

Seemed like a few extra steps, but very cool to see this type of thing on youtube for people to gain interest. I use Mastercam to build complete fixtures and then make blueprints off of the design, or if i really wanted to, i can make a complete program to cut time off or do an intricate detail.

как то всё долго и сложно! я не архитектор,я работал на металлообработке и у меня программы рисовались значительно быстрее,да конечно я часами сидел но и объём деталей был огромным,каждое отверстие,каждую окружность нужно было точно поставить в нескольких сотнях деталей! потом запускал станок и резал это неделями,уже расслабляясь!))

저렇게 만들 수도 있겠지.. 그러나 실용성은 꽝이다 실내의 모서리가 저렇게 되면 저 공간은 죽은 공간이다. 실외도 오히려 계단이 일정하지 않아서 불편하다.

It's funny that you always have to use external pugins do do anything in SketchUp. I used this program in the past and it was a pain to do anything without pugins.

내가 이걸 배울땐 참 좋앗지 저런 곡선 표현하고 이쁘게 표현해두면 참 보기 좋았거든?... 그런데 내가 실무자가 되니깐 직선이 그렇게 사랑스럽다...저런 곡선은 아주아주 증오스러움. 시공이 더 까다롭고 더 비싸짐. 제발 곡선좀 쓰지마. 직선을 여러개로 써줘!!!!!!!
