so finally got mine done, clutch, trans, and found one of the solenoids on the SAV block was filthy.. cleaned. Couldn't calibrate with DiagCode, got a PCCU DTC - P276564 Input 2 speed over range. Went to kevins, he had some sensors, replaced, calibrated, all works now and the shifts are fixed :)

I am so glad Kevin and them were able to help you out! Next time I do a trans service next year, I will do the SAV block cleaning for sure. Hope you are trouble free for many smiles to come.

Not sure you followed the manual completely. It looks like more steps than you did. I got the impression that the last fill is exactly 1 litre and not till it flows back from the fill plug hole. I'm going to be doing mine very soon, so I'll be taking extra care to be sure i don't over fill. Thanks for the vid, perfect timing for me :)

Based on all the feedback I have gotten, I will be doing a follow up video this week, draining it again and filling it back with 6.6 liters instead of 7.8. Found that in 2020 McLaren had a services update for the 650S to use 6.6 total liters of DCT fluid. I tried to follow service manual, multiple videos and follow DIY instructions from other users on McLaren Life. Looks like I just over filled by about a liter. Thanks for watching and subscribing.

@@midlifecarisis_ looking at your vid again. You missed out the step where you open drain plug 1 a second time and about 1 litre is lost. This is important because the oil will be what was flushed from the air brake and oil cooler. By not doing it you will have mixed the old oil back with the new, plus obviously leaving too much in the system. Your old oil didn't look bad, so it's probably not a big issue. But if you did this with dirty oil, then the new will be contaminated. You should pull down your old vid so people don't follow it. Sean should pull his one down too as it's wrong

glad the trans shifts properly now, and you're sharing your fluid with the world ;). I didn't quite follow how you overfilled in the first place, your original video looked fine, was it not up to temp when you added fluid ? I still haven't got to kevins to go get my fluids.. I need to go next week, oil change is due in 20 days anyway.. :)

@@grantdavies6081 between the multiple final fills, at cold, at temp twice I think I went to about 8.25 to 8.5 liters. Kevin says it should be 7.8 liters total

I have always loved the front end of the P1, the P1 and 675LT are out of my price range. Love the front end and overall look. Super Series a little bigger than Sports Series. I have not tired a 570 of any flavor just yet.

​@@stevenlong4567 yup, the 650 has very clever suspension to keep the tires on the road. But also gives the best ride... so long as the accumulators are in good working order. Normal mode is a very comfortable GT ride, can drive all day. Sport is just that, but still soaks up the bumps. Track is as it says on the packet.

Hey I'm sorry to bother you, I am having a 650s transmission issue atm // clutch issue. -- Was your hard shifting random? (Hard shifting // it doesn't know what gear to be in // rough idle) -- Just had it taken to Atlanta mclaren to have it serviced and I think even they did it wrong so don't' feel bad.

Based on the 100 miles comment from Kevin, I’ll bet it’s just gonna take a few cycles to purge out the overfill. Do you recall how much fluid you added?

Right at 8 Liters - Driving a few times a week, trying to avoid the work of drain and fill. I will if I have to. Thanks for watching and following along.
