to be fair new players most likely havent unlocked inazuma archon storyline so they dont know much about thoma's personality (his playstyle and scaling may be lacking compared to other chars but he's top tier personality for me) i just hope they dont hate on someone and their chars simply bc they're not "meta". i'm fine with meta players, just as long as they respect other playstyles and dont force ppl to play like them

I've triple crowned my Thoma, and have three separate builds for him: shielder, pyro DPS, and physical DPS. I adore using him with all of them. My shielder Thoma (with Favonious Lance mind you, not Staff of Homa) can stand right next to Azhdaha during phase change and tank everything like a mf champion without taking a single point of damage. Plus, my Pyro DPS Thoma hasn't hit less than 144k vape with his E in ages. He's by no means a perfect unit, but calling him bad and being rude to other people who enjoy him when you've barely put any effort into building him, investing, and forming a proper team for him is uncalled for.

Preferring to use meta characters over "low tier" characters is fine if it makes you enjoy the game more, but it doesn't give you the right to straight up start being rude to other players for using characters you dislike. Then again, at least that first player was self aware by naming themself "Baka", cause they really are. :p

As a Keqing main I get this treatment alot. It's not that I don't have super OP dps characters but I just love Keqing play style + she's quick and she gets the Job done. I hate when ppl put some characters at the bottom just because of the dmg they do doesn't mean you can't enjoy their play styles. And insulting the characters and who plays them is just bruh.

Just proud to say that in a co-op session with a Zhongli, Hu Tao and Xiao during the Childe domain, I ended up carrying the whole team after everyone died with my c0 Thoma. Plus he's my 1st crowned and level 90 character and never leaves my side when doing the Abyss. Plus he carried my ass throughout the game

Ok ok ok... HEAR ME OUT. I am a THOMA MAIN with C6 TRIPLE CROWNED also with JADE SPEAR(bc iam a f2p and i couldn't get staff of homa) AND HE IS SO GOOD. You might say that "if you built your hu tao like this then it would be too much better." and yeah that is true BUT he still does ABSOLUTELY MASSIVE dmg and i am so proud of him i love him i am so happy that i wasted every single resin for him and not any other characters. Because it is not fun if you just build a character juts bc they are strong. It puts a smile to my face when i build the character i like.

fyi, to check if a character is actually new, you can press the coop menu and check their level (usually they'll be at lvl 1).

Even though I have Tartaglia as my most favorite character, I want to have all genshin characters no matter what or who they are and gonna build them up properly because I want their play styles and also their back stories as well. I recently learned that Thoma with Cons is much better and reliable as a shielder and has already started building him for fun Thoma/Heizou combo. Honestly he has very good minimalistic design with cool ass animations.
