Don't mind those discouraging people, there are some who think even selfemployment is too risky for anyone. Sorry for the miscalculated pages, but you can do it! Some have books with less than 600 pages, you got their missing ones.

Baylee - there is this lady on KZbin named Kara (aka BohoBerry) that makes her own traveler's notebooks to sell on Etsy. I BET you that she'd love to 'mentor' you on making these books. She's amazing! Not that you need a mentor or anything (please don't take it the wrong way)...just thinking that she makes her own stuff and probably has tips galore!!

I never saw the comments yesterday since I watched it just as it was posted, but damn! Just buy the thing! You're a smart cookie and did all your cost analysis, it's no impulse buy. I'm all for having the tools to do things yourself if you know you're going to use it. The naysayers are usually people who wouldn't ever have a need for one, and they see it as if I wouldn't need one, you don't need one. If the costing works for your situation and plans, then you don't need internet commenters to approve your business decisions. I for one would definitely buy art books and such from you!

Hi Baylee, Don’t worry about what others think. Do what you want to do and as long as it makes you happy don’t let others opinions get in your way. I’m sure you’ll get the pages done. Don’t worry about it though. It’s not the end of the world if you don’t complete it before the deadline. You’ve done such a good job so far and I know you’ll keep it up 😊 Speak tomorrow, Molly

Oh noo! I'm so sorry about the surprise pages D: I didn't comment on yesterday's book binding thing but it did sound like something you'd be able to justify pretty easily. I can definitely see the appeal of it, being able to make my own little sketchbooks to sell whenever I wanted to (and not having them be the janky folded-up-then-stapled kind) sounds like a dream :) P.S. That hip and leg you drew DID look really good.

Make sure you check how much those book binding machines actually weigh. I've worked on similar machines and even though they are considered "tabletop" they can be surprisingly heavy and an Ikea cubby shelf might not be able to handle the weight and the vibrations when it's actually in use. Also, I guess Canada has a lot less options for POD printing than the US if buying the equipment is that much cheaper than ordering the books outright from a printer. :/

I watch a lot of holly’s videos and she’s talked about book binding and stuff so I knew from the start that you would save a lot of money. Publishers and book printing services can get pricy for the creator and makes the book more expensive for the buyer. I feel like you have a god audience and people would buy the books because you have a public image and the diy aspect makes people want things more. People that say it’s a bad idea are childish or actual children that have a very small idea on how businesses work. I’d buy an art book or sketchbook from any of my favorite artist especially if it was handmade.
