It’s amazing to me how the viewpoint of CGI has changed. In the 2000s and early 2010s we viewed CGI as a much better alternative to practical effects because you could do so much more with it. Now it’s almost like the less CGI the better because it shows how versatile and creative you can be
@ehqueBM5 ай бұрын
It’s a marketing thing to say that your film has “less CGI”. But also, CGI has gotten so good nowadays, most people are no longer are able to notice it, meaning, noticeable CGI is generally bad CGI.
@user-wr6bf8yr7p5 ай бұрын
The novelty of of practical effects and relying less on computer graphics lends itself to a more different film as a result than just one relying on cgi to create.
@PointsofData4 ай бұрын
Different uses for different things. Practical effects alone could not have given use Gollum, which is one of the best uses in CGI imo. Jurassic Park also used a mixture of CGI and practical effects for the dinosaurs, which turned out wonderful. And although I hate the Michael Bay Transformers movies the CGI for the Transformers obviously had a lot of talent and hard work put into it. I also watched the recent Godzilla movie and although there are parts where the CGI is obvious, practical effects for what they wanted to do with Godzilla...I think it would have been more difficult and expensive. In some cases CGI actually let's you be more creative, since it's become so much more accessible. But of course, I strongly admire the talent and hard work put into practical effects too. Both are tools used by artists, and I admire any artists talent. 🤷♀️
@JacquelineUnderwood4 ай бұрын
@@PointsofDataJurassic park is actually what drove CGI into mainstream usage! It’s very interesting to see how they used it, particularly when you consider that their cgi and art crews worked very closely together as they leaned off each other’s work. They actually used the artists to map how the dinosaurs moved too, their teams created a ton of new techniques to make the movie possible. There’s an entire documentary about it if I remember correctly, definitely worth the watch time

@notrain38286 ай бұрын
it hardly feels like patience when you enjoy what you do. doing a puzzle as a child doesn't feel like patience.. its more like he's living in a mental space where delayed gratification is normal and instant gratifications (social media, snacks, and other physical cravings) don't really deter him from what he knows will eventually be far more gratifying. He works at a mental pace where patience might not even be part of the equation. its serotonin oriented instead of dopamine based. disclaimer: this is just an idea. maybe this person does use patience to get his work done. and maybe this person doesn't use he/him pronouns, however both of these things are besides the point i'm trying to make regarding patients vs enjoyment.
