You got there in the end Mark. 👍. I put a deposit down on a greenhouse at Malvern last autumn. Super excited about getting it at the end of February, just got to get the base concreted, not sure where I’ll find the time, but I’ll get it done somehow. Hope you’re settling in well in your new home. 🏡🏡👍

This video felt like watching a pantomime. 😂😂We did the same Mark. We moved a greenhouse from the allotment to home and we put it on the back of an open top van without glass. Trouble was we couldn’t get it in to our garden so we had to ask our neighbour if we could go in through their garden and over the fence. 6ft 5in over zealous friend pushing it 5ft 3 me cautiously pulling it ended up in a concertina’d heap in my yard . So we had to hammer the frame abit to straighten it all out. 3 yrs later it’s still going though ❤

Honestly Lynne, I thought I had it all figured out with my master plan 🤣 I was lucky it was a nice day and had time on my hands to work through the problems or I might have folded the frame into a tangled mess! Glad to hear yours is still going strong after 3 years. They're such a nice place to be, just pottering about getting on with sowing seeds and looking after wee plants 👍🌱👍

Hi, Mark. I know you have already took the greenhouse apart, but did you know if you just take the top rafter bar off And the rafters off, you can take the greenhouse apart in 4 panels like a shed. Only means to take out 15 bolts to do it.

Nice one Marc you are nearly there,just a thought before every thing goes back in,maybe a little track and some underground conduit pipe to feed a power cable in for whatever ie lights heater,heat mats.There maybe power in your garage which could be handy,it’s just I have extensions here there and everywhere to 2 greenhouses and a bit dodgy to say the least,I’m always saying I will get a pro installation done but it never happens hmmm!!! Anyway you will soon be growing,look forward to the next one,best wishes 🌹🌹

Oh dear Mark that reminds me of that Right said Fred song by Bernard Cribbins! lol Sometimes things aren't as straight forward, when you just want to get things done. Glad to see your friend helping you. All for a few inches! lol Glad you got it done, with those tips from JB and Jessie as well. So no 10 parter series then? So can you grow in the garden where you are now? At least there will be less wind where the greenhouse is and you might get a bit of sunlight through the fences. Have you seen that pop up grow tent Nik has in her garage? Looks really good for starting seeds. Anyway, take care and hope you have a less stressful week!
@marksallotmentplot
@marksallotmentplot 17 күн бұрын
Must admit this one was a bit of a test of patience. The tips from Jessie and JB were so handy as were the second pair of hands. Made everything so much more manageable. The garden all needs a bit of a rejig now I’ve got the greenhouse in. Got half a plan of things I can plant in different places but keep changing my mind 😂 I’ve not seen Nik’s grow tent but heard him mention it on Danny’s live. Will investigate 👍🌱👍

@@marksallotmentplot My neighbours would have heard me swearing about that! lol Is it a rental? It looks like a container or those metal temp bed you have if you can relocate them? At least you still have the allotment ATEOTD. Nik (she) - That British Homestead- has 2 allotments. Just had her 2nd baby after a medical gap but has a brill set up in her grow tent in the garage. She also preserves a lot of the produce and stores a lot of root stuff in the garage. i love that the tent is temporary early doors. Alas, i don't have a garage my old gal but i like the idea of the seed tent in the house, if i was on my own! haha

@AnyKeyLady nope, bought and paid for 🙂. I’m in the refuse to rent and pay someone else’s mortgage kind of mindset 😋. I’ve got a 5 year plan in the works to release equity from other properties and then move to my ideal place. Something with a bit of land! Ahh I’m getting my guests on Danny’s live mixed up. I was thinking of Chris (veggieplot) as I think he was talking about something similar. I was thinking about making some sort of indoor propagation/growing space in the garage but now have other ideas of making it into a bit of a KZbin studio 👍🌱👍

@@marksallotmentplot Ahh that's good you have backup plans and one slightly less stressful thing. Property prices in London are wild! We were in a two bed basement flat but moved 4 miles out and managed to get a 4 bed ex council house with a garden! It needed a full renovation so got it cheaper than the flat. Was a bit fast paced as i was about 32 weeks pregnant at the time of moving in and hubby wasn't into DIY as much as i was. I had just finished tiling the main first stage of the main kitchen that i planned and we built and had our child 4 days later. Studio sounds cool. I have always wondered if those kids puzzle foam play mats would make good sound proofing or for echo dampening? We don't have a garage unfortunately but we have a double drive. It was the last big build thing on our list to re do but then i got made redundant as an IT Specialist. I have tried at much as i can to improve the front garden border but we have crazy paving on the driveway. We built our main bed with the rear patio slabs and had plans with these old slabs but hey ho. Our garden was a mature, low maintenance landscaped garden but filled with rubbish. There is a second back fence with what was dying trees in between the rear fences but it was filled fence high with bagged garden waste, moped bike parts, medical/toiletries stuff and a mummified rat! We hired a skip and cleared it out. Two trees had died and another conifer is dead now, so we just have our lovely lilac tree left. If we were to "win" some money, then i would totally have an annexe back there like our neighbour for either my Dad or the In-Laws. Yes the idea of land would be awesome and we often talk about it. The trouble is, hubby has never learned to drive so there is a fear of isolation. I would be totally up for homeschooling but again as an only child, i fear they would miss out on social skills with peers. I love watching Clare's (Farmyards) videos as i often say one of my bucket lists is to have chickens and a few cows. I watch Chris. I love that Ali (Myrustygarden) has a yt channel now to shout out ppl to watch. Yes love Chris's setup! Anyway, i am waffling now! lol Hope you have lovely week and this "big" storm is a nothing burger by the time it reaches us this weekend!

Oh Mark, what a palava and well done you. I really don't want to be that 'you don't want to do it that way' guy but I could have saved you loads of time and effort. Having moved 8x6 aluminium greenhouses about 6 times over the years single handed there is an easier way. If you remove the ridge and glazing bars, the frame will break down into two sides and two ends by removing 8 corner bolts. You don't even need a van as the whole lot will fit on a standard roof rack. Not much good telling you now I know but for future reference and it may help someone else.
