Getting There

Күн бұрын

The story behind why I moved to Sedona, Arizona in February 2022. After dealing with major health issues related to mold, mold toxicity, gut health, and so many more illnesses, I was able to go down a journey of natural healing to improve my health.
Since I posted this video, it's gotten a lot of views and comments. Though I didn't plan for that, I'm certainly honored and feel a responsibility to all who have reached out. If you want to catch up with me and see what I'm up to now, how the healing journey is going, etc.. Feel free to come see me on Instagram where I post and interact more frequently: / gettingtherenate

Dude... I'm literally in MI dealing with the EXACT same thing... and always wanted to live in Sedona. This is very spiritual that I found this. I'd always had a suspicion that mold was my issue. My wife randomly had eczema pop up, facial nerve twitching, I had gut, digestion, and blood issues, and 2 cats that died prematurely... it's been hell these past 4 years. And I find this

My brother, I can't even tell you how many times things like that have happened to me since I decided internally that I was going to figure out how to heal myself. Have you read the book "toxic?" It gave me a lot of insights on what I needed to do once I had things narrowed down. I'm thinking of you and pulling for you! When the door opens, be ready to walk.

I recently found out it was Stachybotrys in the walls, not visible. It’s so bad the house will be demo’d next month. I’m SO sick. My friend’s renting be a place to live, but still, it’s in Florida. I am truly happy for you! It wasn’t a coincidence that you watched that show. It was meant to be. It’s great you are well, and living a (dry) happy life, doing what you love to so. I must have been drawn to your video because I'm living in Michigan and have been dealing with mold toxicity since working for commercial grow operations since the beginning of the pandemic when I was laid off from the job I thought I'd be doing the rest of my life. My doctor doesn't believe me bc she's not a mold literate doctor so I've been treating myself with the knowledge from a book Break the Mold. I am recently recovering from the most severe illness I've ever gone through and I had the epiphany that I need to leave MI and go to Sedona. If you have any advice on moving out, I'd be grateful. Something told me to click your video and I'm glad I did. I guessed mold right away when you started talking about your symptoms and then you said you're from MI, WOW. I'm glad you figured it out got out and to Sedona.

Oh, the many synchronicities! I’m a California native, currently in the Pacific Northwest for graduate school, who’s always felt a pull to the Southwest. I’ve been exposed to two homes with toxic mold consecutively in Portland over the past year, which has effectively derailed my health enough to convince me to drop out of my dream doctoral program I came here for and move to the Southwest where I can dry out and heal. I’ve felt a particular pull to Sedona, which gets stronger with every passing month, so I’m in the process of researching and planning my move there this fall. This video of yours popped up in my KZbin feed because it talks about Sedona, but when you started describing what you were going through with your health - and before you named it - I said out loud, “wow, I would bet money that he was exposed to mold … I wonder if he knows about mold-related illness?” And then you mentioned the book “Toxic” by Neal Nathan, and I’m like, “yup! … he knows about it!” I’m so happy to have stumbled across your “vlog” post here ;) and to learn that you are finding your way back to health and happiness again :) Would you be open to connecting, and sharing any thoughts or recommendations that you might have for a fellow mold survivor who is looking to find a safe rental to move to in Sedona?

Hey! TC is one of my favorite places on earth. I love smallmouth fishing and the bays are hard to beat for that. Far as how you're feeling, that sucks and I hope you can get out of that environment soon. If you can't, I'd recommend trying to get into an infrared sauna a few times a week and maybe even a hyperbaric chamber. That did wonders for me when I was still in a moldy environment. The craziest thing is how "unseen" the mold can be. I am still out here. I live in Cottonwood and work in Sedona over by Airport Mesa. The video was taken on the trails behind Doe and Bear Mtn. As far as how I like it, I love that I'm 15 - 30 mins from so many outdoor adventures. Going down the verde river in kayaks, hiking, camping, driving around on all the trails, etc. I do miss the lakes in Michigan, but the warm dry air is what I need for the time being. I will eventually move back to MI and build a tiny house that I can trust is free of mold. Many adventures to be had out west before that happens. If you move out this way, you know where to find me!

For me, it is all about all of the pharmaceuticals that messed up my gut and nervous system. Taking antibiotics, for a prolonged time, will make you much more sensitive to mold and will mess up your gut. Once the gut is messed with, SIBO and other problems happen, and the vagus nerve will start to be under stimulated, and the sympathetic nervous system gets too much control. I now have POTS. It was all made worse for me after a flu shot in 2005. I am a woman, and took birth control pills, too. All of this was just too much for my body. Our bodies are not meant to be assaulted by all of those chemicals! I slowly improve, but yes, it takes a lot of research and dedication. I will continue watching your video, now. Sedona is a beautiful place!

Nate, Thank you for this video. I'm another person who suspects mold is causing me issues, and it's getting worse. I'm living in a 7 story cement, federally funded apartment building in NH. I know there's got to be mold everywhere in here, the bathrooms have a vent, but no exhaust fan. I have had sinus issues for years, all year round. I'm going to Sedona for my first time for the last week of Feb. and spending March in Tucson with my sister and a sister in law. I'm hoping the drier and warmer climate will help with most of my ailments. Thanks again for the info.

@@krismaki757 yes an infrared sauna! 😊 there’s one called the SuperSauna that is a half circle shape that a lot of places in AZ have, but any infrared sauna should help. That book was very eye opening and put some medical jargon behind some innate inclinations I had.

Hey Scott. I’d have to say same here.. also find myself peeling back the layers as I heal and am now treating Lyme and Co. I’m doing much better and no longer on deaths door, but I’ve seen such progress that I’ve been able to experience what “normal” feels like and it keeps driving me forward to further healing and into the bearable suffering of detox lol. The clear weather in Arizona has made a big difference for me. That blue sky is out almost every day and I’ve also grown accustomed to the heat. I spend a lot of time outside compared to when I was in Michigan and I think that’s been helpful. I’ve visited your area and have friends who lived there and they said it was a mold factory. I tell people I don’t know that Sedona heals, but it provides an excellent space for us to heal ourselves. I’ll make more videos on the healing journey soon. Been on this travel video kick!

That's odd looking at Sedona real estate as part of a pipe dream mentality and thinking about my future. Didn't expect to find a lot of people talking about black mold poisoning and fleeing wet climates. I went through this and it nearly killed me. And pretty much destroyed several years of my young adulthood. Still have scars on my body and nervous system to this day that will probably never completely heal. I'm not sure if Sedona is any different than living in other dry climates in mid-latitudes, as I didn't escape mold damage living in salt lake. However I bet the air is a lot cleaner down there than it is here.

Jay this is very troubling to hear. I have a lot of questions. Is his mom open to getting a mold inspection done? Is your son willing to see a naturopath? Western medicine is set up in a way where doctors and practitioners specialize in a system (ENT, Gastro, cardiology, etc) I went to many specialists and was told my tests were normal or was given a diagnosis (like IBS) which is not a diagnosis, it’s simply a set of symptoms given a name. With environmental toxins the symptoms are so global and so deep (all the way down to the mitochondria) that it’s hard to pin down. I went on a 6ish month spiral myself and at my worst I ended up in the ER because my whole body was tingling, my heart was racing, I was blacking out, vision blurred.. once I was seen they said they thought it might have been an anxiety attack. It was, but the cause was my body being under attack for so long. I’ll never forget how profoundly my entire personality changes during my worst times. I hope you can get some answers for your son. Follow your intuition and act with love.

My condition was never diagnosed as it was quite a few years ago now, the illness nearly took my sight!!! My flat always had some mold and damp but was never considered a health hazzard, (stone built) the landlord always came to clean it up, re decorated, then built a stud wall over the re accuring mold area of which i was greatful for because it made the flat much warmer!!!!! I Am blessed to have found, brilliant Shamens, Metaphysical Teachers and powerful Tree medicine for my healing process, slightly different approach to your journey!!!! :¬) I Am sure its how we deal with whats happening to us, no matter how difficult, how we accept it, and what we have to learn from it matters also. Good to see you looking well in your videodlog, truly wish you Good Health in your New Life. Yes, the unseen can be powerful and I Am not just refuring to mould!!!! May i share with you all these words. "The Truth Will Set You Free" never give up, somtimes answers are at your fingertips or within yourself, or will be shown or seen when you start awakening!!! Sure we will all get there in the end, if not, its not quiet the end!!!! Keep Well everyone.
