The Kawaii Monster Cafe is actually an art project by Sebastian Masuda who’s quite famous outside of Japan as well and does the Domo time capsule collab with NHK; he art directs a program about kawaii culture as well for them! I think he also art directed Kyary Pamyu Pamyu’s debut PV as well. Busy guy. Oh and that dude in the park was playing a type of drum known as a hang if you didn’t already know. Love those things. They sound so mystical!

Welcome to Tokyo! I recommend Amy hometown Takao. There is a mountain called Mt. Takao. You can go hiking to the top, and you will see Mt Fuji if the weather is good. Have a nice year!

Hi Hannah, I enjoy your video all the time! I’m glad to see you started living in Japan. I used to live in Tokyo for a couple of years, and I highly recommend you to go visit Jindaiji which is one of the cool temple I admire. It’s not actually known for tourists and even Japanese so much but it’s worth to hung around for sure! You would like it if you like that kinds of traditional stuff in Japan.

Hannah, i am back at Brisbane but spent all of 2015 holidaying in japan with my japanese wife and son. you are very lucky. It is a great country and generally very safe. i don't glow in the dark. Every time I return to Tokyo I walk across the Ryogoku bridge and fell like this is where I am meant to be. have a great time. I have been to most of the tourist spots plus more but haven't been to ghibli studios. is ghibli on your list? Trevor

that instrument is called a "hang" or hang drum. its from Switzerland. the musicians passing thru might pick up that "flatted fifth" and "major third" with their ears....i'm pretty sure it's tuned to a "mode" we call "Lydian" which is quite lovely. norm brought me here....but Hannah being just....yea...kept me here.
