Always remember being Eastbourne Boro and going down to 9 men after 12 minutes. Set very defensive and we sneaked a 1-0 after our right back scored 74 minutes. Great win!

Hello from sunny Uzbekistan) if you really love hard and interesting challenges in FM, take that: Easy challenge: take two clubs from League One and promote to the Premier League, but your first club HAVE TO stay in PL while you in second team. Medium challenge: Three clubs from League One, first two clubs HAVE TO stay in PL. Hard challenge: Three clubs from League Two, first two clubs HAVE TO stay in PL. Impossible challenge: TEN clubs from Championship, other conditions you know) For EVERY challenge: a single relegation with any former team, you’re lost.

I’ve been trying this for a laugh on my AFC Crewe save as Ive just got to the National League & expected to go back down! So give it a go cos I’m expecting to get pumped every week anyway! So doing this with pretty surprising results and I’m sitting 5th after 8 games! Doesn’t work so much away from where I’m not creating anything! I did beat Yeovil away 1-0 but I basically FM’d them the other two I’m got well beaten with very shocking ratings. But at home I’m battering everyone, strange!

Because home advantage is very strong, it's easy for AI to be scared and played defensive at your home game. Ironically the low block, luring opponent out of their defensive shape, then hit them on the break before they can went back to their defensive shape, has better chance of countering AI that goes defensive.

I use very defensive, I play quite defensively on fm anyway. It works if you do it right.

I think it would be interesting to use Very Defensive with an attacking formation like 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1. This back 5 is not offsetting the mentality enough. edit: I have got to the part where the formation is attacking. Great video!

Free transfers? Old fashioned player search, usually start looking 6 months out on expiring contracts, then at the end of the season. You find really good ones after July under unattached

I usually work my way through each team from Premier League down to League 2 on the 1st July, that’s the day players are released on a free, and offer trials to the released players! You can only do 30 at a time so I add the rest to my free transfer shortlist & go back to it! But it’s basically free scouting & your staff should have a good enough report on them after 2/3 weeks.
