Yeah I have tattoos and long hair but I gave my life to Christ when I was 5 and have been living for Him ever since (not to say I never strayed) but I've always loved God as far back as I can remember and have always been a part of the church. His grace saved me from having any kind of wild season of life. First - Brandon Lake has been ON FIRE all year. Each song has been amazing and spirit led! Second - As most everyone has mentioned, look at the lyrics of the song and the context. The title of the song (and the fact that it's a straight banger!) are going to reach people that may not normally listen to Christian music and therefore be impacted by Christ. This song allows Christ's Holy Spirit to be a talking point and further share the gospel. We can't get hung up on small semantics if the intent and body of the message is truth and biblically sound. There are plenty of things in this world that we as Christ followers should spend our energy on...nitpicking this song title isn't one of them.

Yes and all 88 scriptures refer to “THE” Holy Spirit(Ghost). It’s the context in which he used the song that is misleading. When you say I need “A” Ghost or “A” Holy Ghost you are no longer referring to THE Holy Ghost. It’s like saying I need a god. I need a holy god. Tell me where in scripture does the Bible reference as “A” Holy Ghost? Not once in all 88 scriptures. Scripture refers to Holy Sprit and Holy Ghost as “THE.” Meaning one. So it’s not the word itself but the way he used it. False teachings can damage people’s walk with God, that’s why people are concerned and pointing out their concerns. Righteous judgement is commanded of us, it’s hypocritical judgement that is wrong. The difference between “a” and “the” may seem minor to y’all but its a distinction that’s larger than we think. Think about the Jehovah’s witnesses translation of the Bible the new world translation. In John 1:1 when describing Jesus their translation says the “in the beginning the word and the word was with God and the word was a god” instead of the correct translation “in the beginning was the word and the word was with God and the word was God”. That seemingly small change has changed their whole perception of who Jesus is and has led them into a false gospel and into ultimately following a false Christ. Words matter.

Makayla I’m in agreement with you there, I’m simply saying that we will be known by our love for one another. And when we admonish one another it isn’t something we take joy in, Paul says he did it in tears. As believers we handle disputes differently, not publicly showing division in comment sections. The Lord says in his words to test the spirits. Each person had to discern for themselves and doesn’t matter how famous you are, if it doesn’t align with the Word, it’s false teaching. No where in scripture is THE Holy Ghost referred to as an “A.” So it’s misrepresentation and misleading. No one should be singing I need a ghost even if your mean it the other way, since it’s not giving God the full credit you open doors to invite other spirits in. Just because people don’t agree doesn’t mean we will be silenced. When Jesus brought correction and flipped them tables he wasn’t doing it to be kind. I’m just saying. He brought correction and the problem with this generation is nobody wants us to stand against the flow if it’s incorrect. I wish I could say it was unshakable before that, and I don't know why God allowed that for me, but nothing can stop my faith in God now. I struggle physically from a rare disease I was born with, and after the car wreck, I have found it difficult to know what to do with myself. Before the wreck, I was able to move physically, so I went to nursing homes and children's hospitals after work. Now, I sit in bed with brain damage, and great physical pain from injuries that are still with me after 3 years, grateful to be alive, and trying to figure out how to continue to serve from this position. Please pray that God will send me a clear message on how I can serve others, and praise His name... 💜thank you

Sharee S The song sounds good, but we need to make sure the theology behind songs that are “Christian” are biblical. Even if it’s incorrect in just one area. False teachings can damage people’s walk with God, that’s why people are concerned and pointing out their concerns. Righteous judgement is commanded of us, it’s hypocritical judgement that is wrong. The difference between “a” and “the” may seem minor to y’all but its a distinction that’s larger than we think. Think about the Jehovah’s witnesses translation of the Bible the new world translation. In John 1:1 when describing Jesus their translation says the “in the beginning the word and the word was with God and the word was a god” instead of the correct translation “in the beginning was the word and the word was with God and the word was God”. That seemingly small change has changed their whole perception of who Jesus is and has led them into a false gospel and into ultimately following a false Christ. Words matter.

@@cherish2u85 It is quite biblical, and not just a personal opinion, as Acts 1:8 say's; "But you shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you:". This very same power gave Peter the boldness to preach the great message were 3,000 souls were saved, Acts 2:14-41. But I must say calling those that caught Brandon changing "the Ghost" with "a Ghost", just "religious spirits" is a bit inaccurate, as a better name would be "bereans " Acts 17:10,11.

Just like we referenced the name of Jesus Christ the holy spirit is sacred in reference in one title of either the Holy Spirit or the Holy Ghost.
