Just got my jb23 a month ago. Had a few issues as its an old car, but after replacements its back on the road. Loving every bit of drive time.

That Jimny’s exhaust sounds really goooood!! I almost imported a Jimny Wide in that generation a couple of months ago but I got a Prado instead. Still, for sure that Jimny is a great looking vehicle.

Prado is for sure much more of a beast

In the UK that suspension component is called a Panhard rod (pronounced 'Panard'). It stops lateral, body sway on taking bends, especially useful on tall, off road suspensions.

So an “off road” strut bar basically?

i own like 3 jimny wide one 2000 with the g13bb and 2007 with the m13a and i can tell you there is no room to work on any of the belts lol. the fan gets in the way, the fan shoud and all that jazz. I find it funny that you can almost pin point a jimny age based on the seats is has the jimny wide has different axles and axle housings from yours, its 5inch wider so they dont swap over we also affectionally call the ones you have Slimny since you got no flares and stuff like that on it lol also adding a bit of weight in the back does wonders for high speed stability

I believe it was only the earlier K6As used in the JA22s that were unreliable, and that the issues were ironed out by the time the JB23 came around. I think it was used throughout the entirety of the JB23's near 20 year run.
@ZUKME2 ай бұрын
Exhaust sounds amazing :) personal prefernce to stay away from the k6a. Always people talking about head gaskets. Colts place has 9 motors right now to rebuild all k6as... still like it. Pan hard bar i think is what you were looking at :) same as my jb32w
@gabaquino2 ай бұрын
What's the reason for blown head gasket? Cooling system failure?
@ZUKME2 ай бұрын
I have heard all kinds of things. If I absolutely had to have that engine i would yank it day 1 and put the performance metal head gasket on it. Or engine swap it.
@gabaquino2 ай бұрын
@ZUKME problem is in US not a lot of aftermarket parts for K6A yet. I'll probably do that head gasket replacement for sure.
@ZUKME2 ай бұрын
Yeah replacement engines and rebuilds are not easy in the US for sure. F6a just seemed to be a stronger motor.

I prefer the older body style, like the red and white one, but that is a nice car. I like the rims and tires, i wouldn't change them. I would take the J11 if it was manual and not automatic.

Can I ask you to look at the Viewt? I think I saw a new, white one come in, too. I have found they vary in level of detail inside, which makes a big difference to me. I love Mitsuoka, but worry that the Viewt is the only one I can afford. I prefer one of the bigger ones. Can't wait for Nouera!

Would have thought the boost light was removed as most Jimny models are more common as the 1.3 & 1.5 than the Kei 660version. As it's sold in Europe Australia & Brazil .
@compo3082 ай бұрын
I'd be happy with either Jimny as long it was a 5 speed manual. I don't like the look of the new Jimny's at all.
@jeremywentworth18332 ай бұрын
The 1.3 with 78bhp & the 1.5 with 100 bhp what we got in Europe in the JB23 run for ever when they finally get scrapped it's always rust that kills the..Theirs also a 1.5 diesel but wasn't sold in many European countries .
