For that piano stand, if you look at the semicircle where the two bars meet there are holes. in one of the holes there's a silver bit in it, if there are open holes under it the stand can go down. I don't know what brand stand you have, there should be a knob or squeezing plate near the intersecting area push or pull that and make the bars go closer to the floor so it will latch into one of the lower holes. hope this helps!

as someome who plays the piano well i have a few tips. maybe try reading the sheet music without looking at your hands and overtime you will develop spatial awareness. I recommend a bench so you can have good posture and lastly your doing amazing in 1 month your already doing big jumps but make sure what you learn is yout level because not being able to play something you want can kill your motivation.

One of the biggest pieces of advice I could give is to play through your mistakes when doing full run-throughs. If you let the mistake make you stumble then its more noticeable that it was a mistake. The spots where you make the mistake are where you need more practice, obviously. If you can get through some sections without error every single time then there's no need to practice that section as much as the others(obviously still practice it enough so you don't forget). Shortens the practice time while still improving the overall performance. Its really good progress and I can't wait to see more.
