I agree with you, the temptation of new figures is so high. Getting what you will use is a smart move. Unless you have extra cash without dipping into savings. But collecting can be very dangerous as it can overtake your life and money is you become addicted to figures. That's one of the cons for collector's. For some people collecting can be like a game of Pokémon.

I think mattel repeat figures for only gain money, bad face scans and very expensive. Jakks was better in the past, figures cost between $5, $9, $10 and maximun $16. Mattel make good details but the price and face scans are very bad.
