I have the Amplified Nation SSS amp. I love it. I love it. So much I said it twice. It replaces the fender 65 drri, and the Mesa California tweed. Doesn't replace my mojotone vibroverb. I gotta say, I have never once thought about returning it to sweetwater. Such a great amp. Clean John mayer/srv tone.

Henny, your reviews are always honest and informative. This is what brings me back and back to your vlogs. You have made a great case about the short comings of this amp. And, for the price of this amp, no matter how good it sounds, should be easy, fast, and intuitive, to use. There is no reason to stay in the past to be period correct when you can make changes that bring it into the present. Rant aside, it sounds awesome! Chris

Two things about this demo: -It sounds like one of the preamp tubes might be weak/defective with the that splatty overdrive sound that cuts off abruptly. That or maybe they are all those crunchy sounding JJ ecc83S? If so, I'd look into some smoother sounding preamp tubes. -The Creamback is a nice speaker for sure, but that type of overdrive sound is really nice with the WGS ET65, or the more edgy WGS12L.
@GCKelloch
@GCKelloch Күн бұрын
For a cheaper smooth cone like the WGS12L, Weber has more Ceramic-powered options that might suit your taste. The California 12 is like A JBL D120, but has a 2" instead of 4" voice, which makes it less crisp. It has three dust cover options. The Michigan 12 is like an EV12L with just two dust cover options. It has a 2.5" voice coil just like the EV12L. My guess is the paper dust cover makes it like the WGS12L. The EV12L has a lower cone resonance than the JBL, which may be true of the Michigan 12 as well. That should give it that classic oomph when you mute notes. it might be worth getting one of the 100W versions of that if you don't have a speaker like it.

That Henry guitar has a Paulownia body. I've played two Paulownia body guitars extensively, and they sounded gorgeous. My only concern is that the trem screws might loosen over time in such a soft wood. You might avoid dive bombs with it just in case.

I have this amp. It is very responsive to what type of guitar you are using. As in how hot the pickups are. I find you can get early break up on the clean channel if your running the FX loop. I feel like a FX loop buffer is needed if your going to use the loop. Really is a great amp. It does takes pedals in the front end very well IMO. My only gripe is, I wish it had a buffered FX loop. Other then that awesome amp! Good review!

Outstanding song production for the demo… Man, great voice… good arrangement… great guitar parts on the song… 👌 It sounds you're using a compressor too right? Or is it the amp's natural compression? 🧐 In the demo after, sounds aren't so great sorry… maybe is not an amp for your style… Only when you use the TS in front it starts to sing… (my impression)…😅 And the price… 3500 - 4000 $… maybe is totally artesanal… but not worth it in my opinion… I would choose a Bogner or other amps anytime… Keep the good work man…😊👏

The more I watch your vids, the more a realize practice is the key. The only reason Dumble amps got fame was because great players used them. How many famous great players have switched gear but are great. It's the playing not the amp and in 2025 with all the great options, you can get your own great time without spending more than on abused car. As far as guitars, play a bunch from same model brand with quality wood and the. Bring it for a real pro setup. You'd be amazed what you can do with a 6 o or 7 hundred guitar.
