I've got the Defender, sick stick, and the Rigged all casting rods and I always go back to the sick stick. Not sure if it's because it's a 7'2 and the others are 7' or the materials it's made of but it just feels and cast way better than the others no matter what reel I have on it. All Med Heavy fast action.

I fish smallmouth up here in Canada, my do everything rod is a 7 foot medium power fast action. I use all your advice, but I just shift it down a size. If you recommend a 1/2 oz chatterbait, I'll throw a 3/8th or 1/4 oz. Love the content, keep up the good work. I'll be checking out favorite rods next season.

B. Lat, your information works! And you and your son are so funny! I have a very detailed question though. I live in the pandhandle of Florida. Iam sure you know our weather changes by the hour. One minute it is 90 degrees, sunshine, clear skies and the next minute it's raining, cloudy, windy and 75 degrees. With those constant changing variables what do I need to look for when the weather is changing while I'm on the water? Such as moving to the banks, deep, or head home? Lol jk. I would assume the bass move or the bite becomes different. What do you do in these situations? #keepfishin

You said some anglers carry 30 to 50 rods but that wouldn't be me. But it looks like you carry 2 to 3 times as much tackle compared to the rods you have on board. Don't you think that's a bit obsessive? I'd probably go insane looking at that much tackle in a boat.

The baby bull shad, I have caught a lot of fish on that bait. I throw it on a 7'4" MH moderate action st. Croix primer rod, with a 7.4:1 shimano curado dc. Its my goto rod for most baits.

Also an SC guy here. Love these type vids. When you fish on a limited budget with maybe 4 rods in the boat it is good to hear the minimum a Pro would use. Same with lures as well. My personal fav rod is only $20 new but is medium heavy 6'6". Love it.
