I recently ordered a new taylormade spider tour. It comes next week. When I was at my local golf shop trying putters, the spider tour was the best feeling, and best looking to me. It’s the best putter I have ever used. It gave much more confidence making putts than any other putter I used, plus I found that I holed more putts with the spider tour than any other putter I used. I listen, look, read various reviews and have been fully convinced that a putter or clubs can make only a small difference when playing golf. I have watched Rick and Peter Finch play with modern, aged out equipment and antique drivers, irons and they crushed them, played very well with all!!!. I play with guys that have the top of the line drivers, woods and irons and they use putters from Walmart and Kmart that they had when the first started golfing and won't change due them being so confident using them. Rick and Peter have proved to me that If you become consistent with a good repeatable swing and you practice and play, You will improve!! And guess what, I live in Pennsylvania so I have not had any lessons or free equipment from them.

I did a Blind Putter Test this wekend, where I went to my local Golf Shop and picked up several models from different brands and just puttet 5 balls over and over again until I got only two models left and chose the best putter for me. The last two were the Spider X and the Cameron Newport 2 (2018 model). Both felt superb, however there was a massive price difference. The Newport 2 was about 449€ and the Spider X 349€ - 100€ is a ,massive difference. I was very lucky to get a "used" Spider X (brand ne condition) now for 200€ and saved 249€ compared to the Newport 2 :-) I can highly recommend the Spider X, but there is no club with a big "i like/ I hate" differnence than the putter - so everybody go out and play them by yourself!

I just bought one of these this week. I was using a Stroke Labs Seven, toe balanced. Totally struggled over the last year and decided to change. Went to my local pro and discussed options and changed a couple of set up items. He gave me several different brands and styles to try. Finally he brought out the Spider X, gave me five balls to putt, and left me to help out another customer. I placed all five balls on the back (10 feet) of the putting surface and drained all five. I bought it. Yea, yea I know a sucker born every minute. My first round in my Senior League using it, I shot 88. I made more putts inside of five. Feet than I have in the past season. Repeated the same results in a Thursday Night Men’s nine hole league, shooting 42 with only one triple boogie, (don’t you just love trees? Yea, me neither) I’m thinking I made a great choice.

Rick, do you prefer the sight line as opposed to the Jason Day model? There seems to be something about the focus without and less distraction. I'd be curious how many people move their head even slightly watching the sight line in the back swing. Happy to be wrong, but I think most putting is between the ears and confidence which no sight line would reinforce.

A $500 driver definitely improved my drives: longer, straighter, and much more forgiving. I'm not convinced (yet) that a $350 putter will make me a better putter. Good review and interesting to read the comments, especially regarding price. Simple question is does it work? You have EVNRoll Rick and I can see logic of the increased MOI and the grooves, all makes sense, so much so I am in for my first ever putter fitting for latest and greatest EVNroll. But, and this is a big but, lots of my golfing buddies are hooked on this TM putter and blimey they are playing well with them. Tried about every putter there is including the Muiras but agree these TM work, end of. So, now a dilemma EVNroll or TM, well that is where TM I think will miss out, getting fitted with an EVNroll offers far more options, TM change the colour! Price for both are similar but if it is for the most important bat in the bag you'll find the money 👍

Got to agree with a lot of the comments-clubs are costing far too much these days. It is going to price a lot of people out of the game, and the promised improvements are seldom realised by the average golfer. Changed my putter recently( after approx 30 years) and bought a taylor made Berwick. It works well for me. I like it a lot and the simpler 303 stainless steel finish will look good for a lot longer than this new spider. And both putters have the same face technology, are face balanced and work on the same priciples. It cost me £115 new from my local pro shop with a Supa Grip included.( and that is still a lot to pay for a club that will have cost a fraction of that to produce). Rick also reviewed this putter a while back and he really liked that one too.

Fellow golfer fell in love with a Taylormade Spider & bought one in the summer last year, 2018. .... 6 months later, I can’t believe how poor it looks. Chipped surface, paintwork. For the price, that is shocking. My Scotty X5 is 4 years old & still looks great.

Never been a fan but I am about to start putter shopping so I think I will throw this in the mix. Great vid. Honestly never would consider these if it wasn't for this. Looking forward to trying them out.
