She was 63 when this was taped. Her voice was still golden, practically unchanged when she first recorded this when she was 23. It became a huge hit worldwide. She had 5 No1 & 18 Top Ten hits on the Billboard Country Charts. Sadly she passed away just 4 years after this performance. RIP Legend.

She, Buck Owens and Roy Clark were the headliners for the Pikes Peak or Bust Rodeo in Colorado Springs where I was born and raised. I was lucky in the regards that the rodeo brought a lot of Country Stars to it over the years. I met Tammy Wynette, George Jones, almost all the cast of Hee Haw, a young Hank Williams Jrr, Waylon Jennings and Jessi Colter and fantastic singer also his wif. and many others. Lynn Anderson has and will always have a special place in my heart.

When I was a little boy I saw her perform at the half time show at that San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo and got to shake her hand. Most performers would come out and ride around the arena in the back of a convertible waving at everyone before taking the stage out in the middle. Not her. Lynn comes out wearing a blue sequin outfit and white cowboy hat riding a white horse like she was born in the saddle and goes all the way around the arena shaking hands and talking to all us kids hanging off the rails and took her sweet time to make sure she got to talk to everyone. When she was done she kicked the horse into a gallop and jumped off on to the stage to do her set. I've never seen anything like her and I guess I never will. I was gutted when she died. RIP Lynn.
