I've played Char since the fourth day of vanilla. She is very aggressively a mid-tier in this version. Her EX DP misses a lot more now since it has a lower angle. I used to be able to catch cross-ups with it all the time, and now it whiffs. The removal of the cooldown debuff for using easy specials buffed her a lot since she now has faster access to another EX DP, which you would be doing with easy inputs in the last game since it's a charge move and it's her only anti-air besides her SSBA. It helps her Sumo Headbutt since it is also a charge, and if her gameplan is to constantly be moving forward, she's going to be using that as an easy input, too. Her flip won't work against most players online because they'll just jab you out of the air as they mash. Seeing it work unchecked in a tournament is actually wild. Her counter also comes out slower now, I believe. Ultimate skills don't help her as much as other characters, but that just means she has more opportunity for super, and hers is VERY good. Getting to GF with her is a testament to player skill, and a knowledge check since barely anyone plays her so they don't know her gimmicks like the higher tiers.

trying to find a game without an incredibly well labbed top tier that has no apparent weaknesses in 2024. People are so good at finding top tiers and then they get far more developed than other characters widening the gap. Most people don't even know about Charlotta being able to combo two U balls and still have enough meter for a raging strike. but everyone knows about Nier setups because everyone has at least tried her.

Even though tekken has it's fair share of stupidity like azucena, Dragunov and jun kazama. They are nothing like nier and seox. I'll probably stick with tekken 8 until gbfvr gets the full balance patch. But it is refreshing to see grand finals that is not a nier mirror or seox mirrors.

I think Jiyuna is a full blown hater. As annoying as Nier may be to deal with, Rising still feels great to play and people should pick it up. Most non S+-rank players are trying to figure out Narmaya and Vira combos, anyway.

Zippy is only having fun at the game because he's using a busted character to win and most of the time, people can only have fun when they win and not when they're on the other side.
