Daffy is dangerous even as a mogwai. He bites a frickin’ chunk out of a security guards nose. As a gremlin he destroys an elevator with Kate inside. Also as a gremlin he hits Billy over the head with a hammer, ties him to a chair, and attempts to drill inside his mouth. I’m pretty sure he isn’t a licensed dentist.

Fun fact on the voice of Daffy in Gremlins 2, he's voiced by Mark Dodson and he did other miscellaneous gremlins in this film like George and Lenny and he voiced Salacious Crumb in Return of the Jedi. Also while digging on some info on him I found out that he produced some albums for Anthrax and Judas Priest. Neat. 🙂

Maybe I'm looking into it too deeply, but the very first thing Daffy does after Kate brings him home is break the blender. The first gremlin killed in the original movie was by a blender. He doesn't like the chicken (at first, apparently he did eat it later)...the mogwai in the original movie LOVED the chicken. It almost seemed like he just wanted something different. I don't know, but it seems like the Gremlins (Mogwai) have a sort of genetic memory. George even knows what a microwave is...perhaps because his "earlier self" was killed in a microwave in the first movie.

I think it's cool how the new batch were the first batch reincarnated and how it influenced them. Daffy stole the show as a mogwai because he had a special thing, he was already crazed and hyperactive and full of energy to wreck stuff and cause chaos. Mogwais are usually not like that until they turn into Gremlins. That’s when Daffy lost his appeal, because being a crazy gremlin doesn’t mean much since all of them are crazy.

It's canon that 1 in every like thousand or million (I forget which) is non-agressive unless turned into a gremlin. So I wonder of Daffy is a rare case? Like, yeah he tried to kill billy when pretending to be a dentist later, but he sas a gremlin then, and would lose his mogwai good boy self. It could also be argued that he saved billy when he jumped out of the bag and attacked the security guard. If he was one of the super rare good mogwai, it's kind of sad to see him go out as a gremlin. Same for Lennie, he was just following George. Except Lennie wasn't exactly evil as a gremlin either. After the whole kitchen scene, he and George just sort of hung out. So maybe george wasn't even evil. He did attack the chef in the kitchen scene, so maybe not.

Yo I remember playing with my two older cousins him and his sister and their younger siblings in their backyard littered with dog feces. The older ones would toss em dirty bad boys toward me. "Here Catch" Brother and his Sister would crack up without ceasing just like gremlins. And also the first time I ever Gremlins with my grandma, mom, and cousins and them was on Easter 1998. They used to air it on WB 17. Longer than DVD version. There were some additional scenes I remember us seeing on television which was were not found on DVD smh. Anyway, the bar and movie theater part is where army of gremlins started to go wild and out of control. Same older cousins were laughing just like them the whole time from beginning to end. And I asked the brother " Can you shut up" and he stopped lol
