I'm pretty sure you need to seal the bag back up while it is soaking. That would of made the moisture level stay up and cook things more thoroughly.

That was a fun idea, I'd be interested in trying a survival pack. And crunchy meat does not sound appetising!
@luaniarumph45244 жыл бұрын
Perhaps adding a tiny bit more water and seal the bag. With freeze dried meat, it may take a little more time as well.
@essencetyler60664 жыл бұрын
For real tho crunchy chicken I might try it buttttttttt idkk
@maxsuarez34584 жыл бұрын
I noticed that you didn’t close the bag for the marsala nor did you close the bag for the apple crisp. The bag has to be closed in order for the moisture to stay inside and penetrate all layers of the product. This was fun to watch, thank you for sharing 🤗
@lizzielushable4 жыл бұрын
During the 8 minutes I'd reseal the bag so the steam doesn't escape to cook it better x
@kareng394 жыл бұрын
For the MRE meals you are supposed to close the package while it’s heating up.
@madpetrolhead14 жыл бұрын
Came down to the comments to write exactly this. You have to close the package of pot ramen too, otherwise it doesn't cook evenly and gets cold by the time it seems okay, which appears to what happened to her tikka masala

So this kind of food is really useful for backpacking because it is super light and all you need is water. There are definitely types of MREs that taste better then others. I find that pastas are really good and other dishes can be hit or miss. But like other people said you are supposed to reseal it when it's steaming.

I have been married twice and they were both in the military, so what they are fed in the field is called a MRE (Meals Ready to Eat) They have told me that they are OK, but not like a home cooked meal. I have never been brave enough to try one. The additional fact that my husband (now) who was in submarine service told me once, that the food they loaded on the boats for them to eat say: NOT FIT FOR HUMAN CONSUMPTION on the side makes me nervous to try anything that the military puts out there. Now what you tried has lovely pictures of what it should look like and is marketed for the average person who has some additional options of what to eat. Although still based on the idea of a MRE it makes me wonder if they have improved what they are giving the people who serve our nation...
