Oh my goodness; they were the last surviving original members of that legendary group. Man these gentlemen was still sounding great even in their senior years. What a great performance they gave. What gifts they were blessed with. So much great singers and music from that era. There’s no greater era of music than the late 50’s-80’s.

They aren't original members, but they were members of the group. They both joined In the 1960s

I am amazed at how close to the original this sounds, considering they were young men then. Usually the higher singers can't hit the same notes anymore, as they get older, but if this was just a recording you could fool me into thinking it was from their early days. This song would pop up in my life occasionally, but it was before the Internet and I didn't know how to find it's name, but I instantly loved it and 30 odd years later still do

Even though Mr McClure is not one of the Original Flamingos, he WAS a member of their lineup in later years. Doug is in Zeke Carey's lineup (PBS Doo Wop 51 special). And Doug is in Terry Johnson's lineup (the View and Rock&Roll Hall of Fame). Doug and Sid Hall were members of the Flamingos over the course of years - just not in the famous era lineup that originally recorded this song. Doug sounds GREAT !!!

How lucky to have had a relative who performed songs like this, little knowing the classics they would become. As a mere 47 year old I know this song from a 1998 episode of “Buffy the vampire slayer” which has just repeated on TV in the UK (2020), hence me looking up this fabulous video. So grateful to everyone who has posted footage of these guys as it’s the only way my era gets to know them, buy them (which I did!) and keep them alive for the next generation. Thank you.

These guys aren't original Flamingos. They were in a latter-day group led by originals Jake and Zeke Carey for awhile, as were quite a few other newbies. McClure joined the Careys in '62, Hall in '69. Actually the group had splintered, with Nate Nelson and Terry Johnson (both on the major hits, with Johnson writing/arranging those tunes) also running their own Flamingos group at the same time. As so often seems to happen, there are probably 30+ guys who can claim they've worked in a Flamingos group with members from the "I Only Have Eyes For You" period in the late-'50s.

Absolutely positively not an original Flamingo on that stage. Neither of these men were on the hit recording of this song. I know they have since passed but this is disrespectful to the men -many of whom have also passed on - that made the recording. This is deceitful.
