I should’ve listened to that one card expert guy who said even if the market crashed, that classic players would still maintain. I was out there collecting young guys. I didn’t spend much tho and wasn’t willing to. But prolly should’ve grabbed like a nice classic players rookie auto graded. I remember unless it was like Brady or MJ etc they weren’t that much. Ppl didn’t value guys certain guys. Like for sure you could’ve gotten a nice David Rob or KG or w/e for wayyyyy cheaper than a Zion or even like some random rookie and it prolly held value better. That guy said if you wanted a store of value to buy like legends that’d always be legends. Brady, MJ, LBJ, Bird, Magic, even like Tiger? He said a bunch others but I forget. I’m sure everyone got hit hard by the market, but guys collecting legends probably not as bad as guys collecting rookies? Like Chris Vernon (Verno, from The Ringer) works for MEM. He bought a million Ja rookies PSA 10. He got in super early when they were only maybe 300-500? He said he had a TONNN. He’s not rich but I’d imagine over those years he collected like 50+ minimum. I emailed in to the show telling him to sell like 1/4 of them bc they were going for CRAZYYYY numbers. I don’t think he ever did. Man I’m not some card expert, total opposite, but I swear even regular Ja rookie PSA10 the nice ones were going for thousands at one point. Idk what it is now.

You should do more, now that the market is a little softer. You're probably the realist person that is opening packs. Chicago fan through and through here in Virginia, but I grew up in the burbs of ChiTown. Took my teenager to a Hornets and a Bulls game this past year and it is a great way to bond with him and I buy him cards when I find them.

I used to always buy football n baseball n basketball card packs when I was a kid just to collect more cards, no clue where the hell my collection of favorites went but probably in my moms storage. Anyway, I’ve been a fan for a few years or so n I also recently became a dad. Obviously he’s not gonna sell stuff anyway and if it came back PSA 9/10 (after grading fee, is that still expensive and take forever?) it’d even out.
