My favorite all time starter is Squirtle. I really get hyped with all the older cards and sets being opened, so much memories and Pokemon still strong 25+years later. Pokemon stay strong for a long time.A big Shout out for Satoshi Tajiri for creating Pokemon , his a true legend.

Cyndaquil is my absolute favorite starter ever - the belly tickling from the first episode of season 3 is just a core memory of mine, and made me fall in love with Cyndaquil immediately! I'm now collecting all versions of Cyndaquil cards ever released.
