I agree! I wouldve been beyond upset with that first cake considering they were all $100-200 apart in pricing. I predicted that last cake to be about 800, so idk if i just dont know how gourmet cakes are priced but i felt like that would've been reasonable if i was charged that cuz it was beautiful and deliciously made as well. I expect $1000s to come from top notch designer bakeries or celeb bakers i guess

i used to work at a cake bakery and i can't imagine selling someone a cake like that first one 😭 especially not for that much money. i'm sure they tried their best, but it just seems unprofessional. i hope they're able to practice more and get better at designing cakes

im still on the first cake but: bakers do put supports in tall or stacked cakes so they won't collapse. The first person put a little too much, especially with the cardboard that could've been replaced by fondant. but having those supports is normal and needed! OMG ALSO theres a youtuber who makes amazing realistic cakes named sideserf. if she lives anywhere near you guys and accepts making a cake for you, then hers would 100% not dissapoint
