I think the reason it is a human chorus at the end of octo expansion is because we learned in splatoon 3 that the humans tried to see the sun and sky but failed, so we finally completed their life mission. (This is a theory).

At 23:05 it sounds to me like their saying "chaos and order" which is what the theme of splatoon 2's final fest was (and if that's intentional, that's a very cool reference)

I never thought about it being intentional, but that would make sense because they changed the words on this part specifically, and it doesn’t have that in any of the other versions! Sort of like how Deep Cut speaks in Japanese at the end of their Tricolor shout, or in Anarchy rainbow during the summer fest! If they have references like that, it makes sense that they would add ones in English too!

7:07 Mew. (A small detail I noticed in OTH Live concerts, (More specifically with Ebb And Flow's remix part) is that the sampled voices or sounds vary depending on the In Game development. From what I remember there's three variations; Pre Octo Expansion Launch; It's Inkling noises! Post Octo Expansion Launch; It's octoling noises! Post Final Fest; Squid Sisters voices + And their Fav. Main weapon noises.)

i love how Ebb and Flow has become a sort of new age Calamari Inkantantion in a way with how it's able to lift the spirits of those who listen to it and cause Overlorder to "dance" in a similar way to how DJ Octavio does in the first two games when you fight him. it always shows up in dramatic pivotal moments where you really need to push yourself for the end goal of saving the world from complete destruction and i love that a lot. also it really speaks to how talented Marina and Pearl were to be able to create a song so powerful it would save the world multiple times, and it all came from something Marina made with a half-busted keyboard upon emerging to the surface. it makes me wonder how music and melodies work in Splatoon and where their power comes from :D also the little pauses in the Ebb and Flow demo were always meant for Pearl to sing in from the beginning... 🥺 (i swear the Pearlina pairing just keeps getting cuter and cuter adhafsh)

SUPER AWESOMESAUCE VIDEO!!! this was really enjoyable to watch ^_^ small correction; at 21:01 , marina’s are sampled from the splatfest version of ebb and flow! you can hear the old filter on her voice from the spliced vocals :) the vocals at 21:12 come from the ending of the earlier verses of the splatfest version, specifically at around 33 seconds into the song.

SOMETHING I WANTED TO POINT OUT THATS REALLY INTERESTING the spectrum obligato leitmotif is very similar to the run the bass plays in the fly octo fly version of ebb and flow. I noticed that a while back maybe they just kinda pulled from that or it represents something. Maybe they just added it bc it sounds cool (and it does) idk😭 wanted to throw that out there
