It's easier to spray a ton with lighter fresher fragrances, leading to faster dents. A lot of the strong, rich, gourmand scents need only a couple sprays before you overdo it, leading to slower usage.

I have a theory about this! Also an amber and winter perfume lover but my most used are light and fresh as I think we overspray them more so you finish them more quickly. I have 40+ in my collection and Mojave Ghost is done and L’ombre dans l’eau edt is nearly finished. My husband is burning through PDM Sedley and says he will repurchase it! ♥️

I think you’re right! You cannot spray 20 sprays of Oud Satin Mood, but 20 sprays of Chance Eau Tendre are easily sprayed!

Absolutely right. My fresh skin scents and lighter vanillas i layer anyways with almost everything. Not fair to them but find them very comforting and they have the biggest dents😊

I started a spreadsheet, on January 1st, where I write down every fragrance I use daily, as I wanted to see which ones I use the most. Given the fact that the first half on this year just passed, I checked to see which ones I used and I was surprised to see that the ones I thought I loved and used the most, were nowhere near the top! 😳 It’s interesting to see these kinds of things, as we are usually subjective and our memory cannot be fully trusted, so it’s through measurements that we can see which one we use the most! ❤

Interesting share, i absolutely love Dyptique's phylosokos, so easy to wear. My top dents this year so far are Le labo's Another 13, TF santal blush, Glossier You and Penhaligons Changing constance. All close to empty. Oh plus YSL black opium la parfum and dyptique Eau duelle, and I've only had these since May😊😂❤

Mine would be Midnight Oud from Juliette has a gun. This one is a jackpot with a cherry on top! Woody and rosy, but not heavy, a bit floral. Very uplifting, gets me in a good mood. It's the kind of fragrance I don't mind paying over a 100€ for a bottle, it leaves a beautiful trail (I can smell my husband on the elevator an hour after he left, I kid you not!) and it lasts FOREVER. I bought it originally for my son with the intention to "borrow" it now and then, but my husband stole it for himself and that's how it became our family scent 😂 The first bottle lasted us a year (it doesn't really need much to bloom, two sprays and we're good for the day) and I already bought two more. I will cry if they discontinue it or ruin the formula. The new ones from JHAG are pretty but disappear too quickly...

Hi Monika - Thanks for the video. You are my favourite reviewer because I also love woody fragrances and spicy fragrances. I have a collection of 100 full sized bottles fairly evenly spread across categories: fresh, floral, amber, and woody. On average I empty around 12 to 20 bottles per year and probably purchase a similar amount. I have put huge dents in: Tam Dao, Ambre Sultan, SJP Stash, Lys Solaberg and Citrus Batikanga layered (smells like Starlight), Ombre des Mervilles, Gris Charnel, Vanilla Vibrations, By the Fireplace (finished bottle), Encense Suave, and Peau Santal. Probably loads more too but I've been very into woody fragrances for the past six months.

I also love Ombre de Merveilles and Encens Suave. But even though I spray pretty much, I get to finish one bottle in about 3 years and I own far less perfume bottles than you. How do you manage to finish so many bottles per year? I am really curious, as I would love to rotate them more often and to try out new perfumes. 😊

@@Cristina_1331 Hi Cristina - I love Ombre de Mervilles. It smells similar to Serge Lutens 5 O'Clock Au Gigembre. To use the perfumes up. I spray around 20 sprays. I also spray morning, and evening. If I'm trying to finish something I spray my clean laundry as I put it away. Mine and my husbands clothes I currently spray with Molecule 1, my three little daughters clothes I spray with Amazing Grace. I just love using them up and making dents. One other thought is if you really are in love with something in your collection just use it. I used to try to ration and rotate but my tastes vary a lot so if I'm really enjoying a fragrance I will wear it days in a row.

Hi Monika, I just tried Byredo vanille antique yesterday, I would be interested to hear what you think if you have tried it before? From your list Philosykos is such a classic, love that one. I tend to have a signature scent that I wear for a long time and then move onto something else, at the moment it is Dior Vanilla Diorama, before that it was Diptyque eau duelle, le labo santal 33, and Byredo Bal D'afrique. Once I move onto something else, I don't tend to go back to what I wore previously.

I just got a 5ml sample of Gypsy Water today because my last sample was a 1ml dabber and i couldn't get a good feel for it. I was really surprised because all i smell is vanilla whereas the sample smelled more unisex. I wonder if my samples are authentic or not.. i know Byredo has a lot of knock offs around so honestly i dont know if ive even smelled authentic GWater! 😅 I'm tempted to buy a bottle direct from Byredo (unless anyone has a real authorized dealer of Byredo to recommend) 😊😊

Hi! How do you keep your fragrances working? I bought some perfumes many years ago, and now they smell weird. I wonder if it is because of the alcohol or it's gone bad?

I keep mine in the boxes to avoid exposure to sunlight, which is the main problem. The other is that the first time you spray the bottle, when you release the plunger, oxygen gets sucked into the bottle & that's when the timer starts on your bottle ageing, so use all of your samples first before spraying your bottle. Lastly, is temperature. Always keep the air conditioner running,even when your not in your house, as heat can destroy your fragrance & of course don't put bottles in the medicine cabinet of your bathroom because the heat from taking showers will damage the fragrance

Also it’s kinda cool in there as well compared to my room temperature. They just don’t smell the same anymore…idk if I need to macerate them? It would suck to throw all of them out cause I had collected so many through out the years😩😩

@nipaislam5656 If they were clone fragrances, then it could be that they used cheap oils. The only other thing I can think of is that your skin chemistry changed. I'm a gym rat, so I change my diet constantly. Depending on if I'm trying to gain muscle, I eat a lot of meat & when I'm trying to loose weight, I switch to salads & eat much less. I've had the smells of fragrance, especially ones with ambergris, become much more metallic & off putting than when my diet is different. Have you tried your fragrance on other people to see if they smell different?

Interesting. That's actually my favorite part, and it's different from other fragrance videos. It's all part of the visual effect, and clearly they can afford to spray it even if it's just a little bit left in the bottle.
