Never enough of Domingo performing this role. Even when he was too young, he portrayed the pathos and poignance of Canio such that we had to feel sorry for the man. Zeffirelli often had strange views for character development. Big thanks for uploading this, paz.

Domingo started to sing as a baritone in 2009, and this was filmed in 1997. He had kept singing as a tenor for another decade. In 2008 and 2009, he was still singing Bajazet, a tenor role in a Baroque opera "Tamerlano". This is his last tenor role. (BTW his voice is too robust and heavy for Baroque operas). In the same year, he took the baritone role Simon Boccanegra.
