I almost painted a dragon on a bathroom wall once. We moved before I got the chance to finish it. Bathroom paint IS different from bedroom paint. It has to resist water so shower steam doesn't rot the wall or grow mold. Primer is definitely necessary as a first step. I'd worry about the paint staying on the wall after some showering time, unless you seal it before steaming it.

That is such a beautiful painting!! My mum used to let me paint on the wall when I was younger.. I once painted a huge picture of Simba when he was a fully grown lion on the lounge room wall. She absolutely loved it!

I love the art! It looks amazing. There's so many talented people drawing murals on their walls these days, the only thing that makes me want to tear my hear out as an interior architect is, that most of them use simple acrylic paints. Especially in the bathroom. The reason wall paint exists is, because it lets the walls breathe so the brick/concrete won't accumulate moisture and start growing moldy. Acrylics are literally a layer of plastic that you put on top and they won't let any air or moisture through. Which is especially bad in a bathroom where the air is always moist.

I didn't paint a mural on the wall, but I also used up my old Michael's Artist Loft paints doing a bunch of canvas paintings! I didn't get stuck at home during Covid, but it kept me from doing my normal routines outside of work. It's nice to be in a position to explore other should. Great job with your mural!

Something that may be good in an acrylic painting class is how to deal with canvas texture in order to get a clean painting. Also how to paint something so that the brush strokes look good. You could go into how you structure a painting, (background to foreground) and the color theory related to that. Also your take on reference images

that looks rly good. a little tip from a house painter : "close" the edges of the tape by painting some of the original wall color all around the edges. that way u dont get those wonky edges but instead get a nice fine line after the tape :)

For this and the Bob Ross painting, you could get some simple wood frame edges/moulding and 'frame' the wall murals. The bathroom ones would need to be treated for moisture resistance obv.
