Pro tip: your sand scratches, should end in the same direction. Horizontally. The human eye picks up vertical scratches, and D A marks, very quickly. Especially on black. Your First Cut Is diagonally to the left. The next cut is diagonally to the right. Next cut is up and down, vertically. And last cut, horizontally. Reason number one. If you have to walk away, you know exactly where you left off. Reason number two. Uniformity. When the clear coat highlights the color, that highlighted the sand scratches, it will at least look, the same from panel to panel. Be aware that, every time you rub a panel. Whether it be sandpaper or your hand. You are creating static on the surface. Static, will pull dirt and lint, out of thin air, and suck it to the panel. One of the best ways to combat this, is the ground the vehicle to the booth. And wait about a half hour. Disconnect the battery. So no electricity is traveling through the vehicle. This will help prevent having to buff and polish your clear coat. There's no sense in painting a vehicle, and then coming behind it... And having to do a paint repair. Another thing you might want to try, is blowing air across the vehicle. Downward from above, or from front to back. Hence the designations of paint booth, downdraft, or cross draft. Pushing air, is easier than pulling air.
