Two years ago I switched to the Dump Truck business and this is my 2cents about my experience and what I have learnt so far. Dump trucks can provide substantial financial benefits through increased efficiency, lower operating costs, versatility… as a heavy equipment operator I can tell you that i generate steady income at a certain period by offering hauling services to construction companies and landscaping firms especially if you make sure you always meet the deadline which potentially would lead to a repeat in business and recommendations. Right now I’m in the process of opening a daycare business for my wife after successfully getting approval for a $500k loan with collateral because of my good credit. And my greater move was switching to Dump Truck, starting a dump truck would require investment of time, conducting thorough research and be committed to quality service. Goodluck ❤

It's inspiring to hear about your success in the dump truck business! As you transition into starting a daycare for your wife, it sounds like an exciting new chapter! I’m considering a similar path and am curious about how you navigated the loan process. Any tips on securing funding or advice on what to look out for would be greatly appreciated! Best of luck with both businesses!

As a twenty-year trucking veteran, and 2.5 million miles, I'll say it right here-trucking is a cut-throat business. You're chances of being lied to if you start a trucking company is nearly 100%. Shippers and trucking companies will tell you a million lies to get you through the door, but then once you start hauling for them, the reality is uncovered. Expect to make 70% as much as they told you you'd make. Also, expect to work 10 more hours per week than they promised. Too much government control and regulations. To make good money, you will need 3-4 trucks running. If you can't afford this, the only other answer is to buy your own truck and go out on the road. Consider trucking to be like a college education. There are no books that will tell you how to do it, and other owner operators are hesitant to help you since you will be their competition. If you're looking into starting your own trucking company this 2024 then I will recommend you look into getting a business grant. I was approved and awarded $400k as startup capital. Today as a company owner, independent owner operator running under my own authority, 11 years running under my own authority. I do a 15 -16 day run. $25,000 in line haul is my goal. Every month is a 10+ day vacation. I run a reefer and only spend $16,000 to $21,000 a year in maintenance. After taxes, fuel and licensing | profit $190,000 in the bank. There is no short cut to success. Get your own authority and work open broker boards for trips. You will never see the big money off this industry as a COMPANY SLAVE.

agree! Company slave if you allow it. Get in and get out and do your things. Just need a plan to do so. Without one, you get caught up very quickly and there goes 10-20 years like that. The main thing you need to know, this business is not for Slackers. If you are not a self stater, keep your job. If you like, expect to be home with your family at a certain time, this ain't for you. Once you invest your money you have to keep the wheels turning to make the money. Even when the Post Office don't run, You have to. Rain, snow, sleet or hail. No rest for the weary. This isn't for people that can't manage their money, credit and time!! It can be a fun way to get to travel and make a good living. If you have small children or a new Wife, you better think twice.

For me it’s a good older truck not a 80s or anything like that just a good old truck! I laugh at you guys in 150 thousand plus trucks not making a profit because the payment is so high! And the newer trucks have the most problems! He talkin but I can’t agree with everything 60,000 will get you a good truck maybe even less!! The warranty on a new truck doesn’t matter when it’s sitting on their lot for parts! Now you really not making money so to each their own!!!

@TruckingFabb genuine question brotha, i know you say new trucks is the way to go, but like you said, when your truck payment is 4500 (your sons truck), after driver pay, insurance. If the truck is making 5k a week, how are you gonna put a driver in there and make money? Thats about 1100 to 1300 a week in profit assuming no down time or tire blowouts.
@torrellsanders28212 ай бұрын
That is where drivers make the mistake as long as you are driving that truck that is your truck you are responsible for it because when DOT pulls that truck over he asks for your drivers license he doesn't ask for the owner license a DOT officer told my dad as long as you are driving that truck you are responsible for it if something is wrong with that truck you are to tell the owner and if he doesn't get it fixed you can refuse to drive it and if the owner fire you for refusing an unsafe truck you can call DOT and tell them your boss fired you because you refuse to drive an unsafe truck and DOT said they will come out to your job shutdown that truck and he will make your boss pay you while you are off and your move that truck until it is fixed that's why when I drove a truck for someone I drive it like it's my own because it's my life in that truck I am thinking about my safety as well as others

One of many things I’ve learned as a owner operator is everybody you talk to lies, they lie about their pricing they lie about what they’re getting paid for the load that’s on their trailer, they lie about how much they got in their bank account, they lie about how much it cost them to get up and run. Pretty much everything is a lie. Once you get it, it is very expensive.

Old trucks make the same amount of money new trucks make. So i feel you. And if it’s working for you keep it going. A friend of mines have a 1987 LT1000 Ford and his truck is parked now because they don’t make the parts any more. So be careful with trucks 30 plus years old.
