Hi David, this is Juan from OGMA. Seeing this video showing up today in my KZbin feed was a pleasant surprise. Thank you for choosing OGMA and creating such a thoughtful unboxing video! I really enjoyed how you communicate; it is like conversing with someone you have known for a long time. I just subscribed to your channel. Keep up the fantastic work with your content creation!

I hear you Dave with the ecosystem. Just be ready for the ZWO/Apple die hards coming for you 😂. I agree we need to support other brands. Its good to know about these for any future purchases. Clear and cool skies 👍

Looks like a very nice camera and that extra 5 degrees should come in very handy in your hot climate. I do like that there are options out there in the market which i kind of hoped would lead to better competition but it seems that all brands cost about the same. I also understand the concerns about “ecosystems” but to be honest, the only ZWO product that i know of that ‘locks you into their ecosystem’ is the ASIAIR (which doesn’t need to be used) whilst all other products can’t be used interchangeably with other brands. Looking forward to seeing the first light images with this camera and i hope your temperatures fall so you can get back out under the stars.

You're going to love this camera. I use the Risingcam version. Both are from Touptek and both are overlooked. Thanks for sharing it!

Awesome camera. I got the same in October and it's the cheapest IMX571 and US company. Juan is a stand up guy. What has been your best gain?

I couldn't agree with you more about avoiding getting locked in. I'm not planning on buying any ZWO products anymore unless there is no alternative.

I've got the Altair version of this camera & it's a lovely camera plus it's £600 cheaper than the ASI2600MC pro so a no brainer from me. I do agree about the LED's as they are annoying when using it with the RASA shame there's no option to switch them off as even with tape over them I still get gradients. I totally agree about not being locked into one brand to plus from what I've been reading they've been using open source software for the ASI air & not giving anything back into the community & they're making a lot of money from it to.

I feel your pain. I am in Phoenix too. I always wondered if -40 is possible in Phoenix.

It is unfortunate that FLI does not make more affordable CMOS cams, because their CCD cameras were capable of cooling their sensors to 65degrees below ambient!

My Risingcam version has also a more powerful cooler. It takes about 1min to cool from 25C to -10C whereas with the ASI2600MC it takes at least 10min. The ASI2600 just shuts off when it can’t reach the desired temperature.

I believe that the OGMA camera is also made by Risingcam, so it has the same specs. I am just working on figuring out the right settings to use the camera in NINA, such as GAIN and OFFSET. If you have any suggestions, I am all ears! CS!

@@DavidCotePhotography In the settings menu in APT you can check/uncheck HCG and the gain is between 100-10000.

@DavidCotePhotography if you use the paid version of Sharpcap, the Histogram function makes suggestions for gain and offset which I tend to use and they make sense.

Cooling & warning CCD & CMOS sensors too quickly is not recommended. It can lead to damage.

Nice camera option if you can’t afford a good one. I’m a big fan of ZWO, could care a less about proprietary issues, Apple does it all day long. I’ll do anything to avoid dragging a 20th century laptop around.

"...if you can't afford a *good one*."??? Have you tested the OGMA cameras? Are you making assumptions based on price, or are you just arrogant??? (...BTW, I use a ZWO6200MM, so I'm not anti-ZWO..)
