i think the issue with universe mode isn’t really the mode itself, of course it has its problems and limitations but the fans are split. some want universe to be like the old where random cutscenes and stuff will happen and others want it to be fantasy booker mode where you can control who wins matches but still watch the cpu vs cpu

Looks like the mode is as bad and broken as ever unfortunately but the rivalry system does seem cool. Iv noticed minor Rivalries or whatever they were called seem to be gone which I hope not as they were great and was how I set up my Rivalries as I rather them happening dynamically Vs me choosing them. The thing about the Rumble story is just an example of how broken the mode is. It was originally built around ppvs every 4 weeks which they no longer do but it messes with things. The mania story always used to start 4 weeks prior but I know last year Fast lane got in the way and caused issues. This year I worry the problem won't be able to be fixed unless you just don't have a PLE after Rumble. They no longer have the option for a WrestleMania story option in options anymore so it's possible we will just have to manage the story ourselves. I'm glad you at least brought it up to the Devs but whether they will actually care to do anything about it remains to be seen. It also sucks that double title matches can't happen in Universe especially since the game doesn't have the titles unified so it's going to be hard to treat Roman Reigns accurately in Universe

So when I say it looks broken as ever I'm referring to little things that shouldn't be in the game, like the Rumble winner facing the champ at Mania, that should be a thing that's pretty simple to pull off. The Universal Championship was also never defended I think because the mode just doesn't work with having a wrestler holding multiple titles all too well. It's little things like that which would make great improvements to the mode. They didn't really fix any of Universes biggest issues but the rivalry improvements definitely are cool

That depends on the action you choose. If you’re having some attack or disrespect an opponent then that will start a rivalry but if it’s friendly it’ll probably start a tag team story.

I'm hoping this can replace the glitches in universe in 22. I would love to have these actions without required rivalries. More than likely I'll wait out the lifespan to do anything to prevent any corruptions or work that could be lost since I mod on the pc.

This grate I love the fact they added cutscenes for universe mode but I would love it if 2k added more cutscenes for triple threat,fatal four-way, five way six man tag, war games money in the bank and royal rumble and any new match types to be added cutscenes to as I think it would way to make wwe universe mode feel like it’s an living universe and another example is you can do have cutscenes to be in the royal rumble so then you can have like kofi royal rumble moments but also having so tag team brake ups that happen in the royal rumble match would really cool to be add into wwe2k24.

I think there is still double title matches in theory, but I think one person can't defend 2 at a time. I think its only double if both wrestlers each have a title to defend.

There's plenty more we could ask for. Especially since they charge so much for a copy and paste game. It's about time they gave us more match types that people have been asking for. I have given up hoping for a special guests referee match to return. I would've liked to have seen promos return as well. Advanced entrances are back but it doesn't look to have any improvements over past installments versions. While the new rivalry action system in Universe mode is pretty cool, they don't seem to have put much effort into creating new scenes that we haven't already seen in previous games. Personally I think it's time the rights to make wwe games are handed over to another developer.

They have completly lost sight was what Universe mode is supposed to be. Its not about booking and controlling everything that happens in the mode. It's supposed to be about playing through a simulation of a pro wrestling year. The game is supposed to throw unpredictable, fun, stuff at youm, create its own universe and the joy of it is seeing how things unfold and playing an endless mode that keeps delivering entertainment and twists and turns. Seeing the same old rivalries play out with the same scenes in the same order and having to set rivalries up to end and begin at predetermined times, etc. takes all of the spontaneous fun out of it. It's been a decade and they still don't get it.

I'm on the fence. On one hand it's nice that you can control cutscenes with matches but on the other hand it may get tedious having to keep doing it. Sometimes random can be fun. I think to balance it out you can select from a list of storylines that you want like Championship, #1 Contenders, Manager Betrayal, Tag Team/Stable Forming or breaking up, Brutal, Friendly and rivalries that lead up to a specialty match like HIAC, Special Referee, etc.

The new rivalry system is such a good improvement to universe mode, however, there's just one last thing that i'd like to change. The matches themselves. The AI (at least for the beginning of universe mode) always gives you these random matches that would never happen on the irl product. The whole reason people play universe mode is to simulate the actual WWE product. You'll get random mixed gender tag matches or matches that wouldn't happen in a million years like Roman Reigns vs Rick Boogs lol. Now, I like this goofiness factor to universe mode because sometimes it's fun to just let loose and see what wild matches you'll get. But that's only SOMETIMES. Majority of the time I just want to simulate the irl product with small deviations so I can have my own story. My idea is for 2k to implement a slider to adjust how "goofy" or random the match ups can get. You can either make them super realistic, super random, mainly realistic, mainly random etc. It'd also be cool to maybe have an option to sync our universe with the live WWE product (since i'm assuming wwe2k23 will be live service as well). Just my thoughts, anyone agree or disagree?

@@forrnx. divisions is the only way to make this more accurate. I have many titles so a lot of jobbers are fighting for that title

completely agree...Divisions only help so much....Mixed gender matches were probably the worst. I set up so many mixed gender tag teams, but they would never match up two established teams against each other. It was always one team against some random pairing of a guy and girl....Match table is buggy too.

what i do with universe mode is basically just create my own show or use one of the existing ones...delete the rest, draft who i want, and treat it as a type of gm mode...much easier and fun that way because i agree with u, i hate how it sets up all these random ass matches that would never happen...using created superstars and drafting who u want into ur own show and going about it that way is top tier

My biggest concern is if universe mode crashes. Do any of you who have the game notice some glitches or crashes in universe mode?

the only times mine has crashed was mostly in 2k20 and twice in 2k22
