Dave The Diver is the sort of special project that proves games are for everyone. I think my favorite part of the game that highlights this point is how masterful the skill/plot pacing is. Making mistakes and being unsuccessful early on (being overwhelmed by running the restaurant by yourself, dying to o2, dying to big prey, etc) are purposeful hiccups to motivate you to obtain better weapons/resources AND force you to understand the consequences that act as pillars of the game. I know that sounds obvious, but it’s shocking how few games really nail it this well nowadays.

I got this game for the Steam Summer Sale and just finished this a few days ago. It's such a good game. Like, completely blown away with the changes in gameplay throughout the game, mini-games, bosses, etc. Everything was really well crafted, I just wish the game was even longer. Like I want to spend as much time in this game as I spent on Harvest Moon game back in the day, more random events or holidays, etc. Or maybe I finished the main story and stuff too quickly, but it's definitely an experience to savor.

Not sure if you ever took advantage of it, but there's an "auto-supply" option for dishes in the restauraunt, basically it'll make 1 more every time you run out as long as you have ingredients. Basically means you never run out of servings, but in exchange you always waste at least 1 serving worth of ingredients every night. Honestly something they need to tell you about, because it really changes the restaurant stuff so you never worry about stocking too few for a night and losing out or stocking too many and wasting 10+ batches of fish.

I thought that this would be important information to share, given the ocean-related nature of this game. 35% of all ocean microplastics come from clothing/textiles, mostly polyester, but also acrylic and nylon as well. This is largely due to clothes made of these materials being washed, which causes these clothes to quickly erode, with the microplastic fibers entering the water system, and eventually, the sea, where they often end up consumed by fish. These microplastics can in turn end up inside us when we eat these fish.
